not been a smarta$$ just wondering,,

I'm sure some wonder in the back of their head why? But it's new, different and in a lot of cases that extra "foot" can mean a lot. But when you have an expendable income it's easy to say I want something different whereas for the average joe it's hard to fathom changing what were running now. But if you want that little extra foot you will go out of your way to get another awesome product from AT. Just my 2cents

It's not so much the "one foot" but the extra space in the cockpit, which now will be 8", and the extra room to get around the engines, which is now 4" in front of. Those were two of my biggest gripes.

And, of course, you have the benefit of the DDC step-hull.

Both big pluses.

Love the project, always wanted to build one from scratch.

cosmic12 07-16-2013 02:36 PM

Tap Tap Tap anybody in there?

ToMorrow44 07-18-2013 11:12 PM

Just curious why only Mercury power? If a customer wanted big power from an aftermarket company would you say no? Looking forward to seeing how this boat comes out, should be a very nice boat. Good luck.

This is an interesting question. We've built custom power boats before; but things never turn out exactly as planned. I could answer more, but I'll let Pat explain it better.

classclown 08-07-2013 11:52 AM

coming along nicely!

Are you hiring test pilots?
If so I would like to apply and I'll pay or the gas I use on the test runs.

OCDACTIVE 08-07-2013 12:57 PM

still wondering if it is going to have one single I/O or outboards?

classclown 08-07-2013 02:50 PM

I think Pat posted the boat is gonna have a DDC hull and single 502 if I remember correctly

It kinda looks like you took the non-skid off, hope not.
Also that beer has the wrong label for you:ernaehrung004:

Very observant but that's not my beer!

Using fresh tooling non-skid. If you try to pull the mold with the old stuff it can stick.

I thought at the beginning Pat was asking for preference. I would love to see what the cockpit would look like with twin 350's off the back. You could almost set it up as a poker run boat with an extra set of bolsters before the bench.

Would this be possible Pat?

First boat will be a single BBC. Outboards are definitely an option. I have some neat ideas I want to do with an OB AT. Pat and I wanted to do them on the OB 33 a short time back, but the customer wanted the traditional bilge compartment for storage of large fenders to tie off to his mother-ship.

and getting closer.

Crossett 08-14-2013 12:58 PM

A pair of 500hp all aluminum LSx engines would be perfect in that boat.

More reliability than a similarly powered big block
redundancy for solo, or ocean boating
easier docking
decent economy
2 aluminum LSx's weigh approximately the same as an all iron BBC

ActiveThunder 08-14-2013 06:49 PM

I agree. Just make sure they say Mercury and have a warranty!

Looks good! I was going to ask if you were leaving the 3 sections for the old deflectors but I see now that you are. Hate to ask but how is the pitch now for drainage off the rear by the fairing? Great job Pat can't wait to see it shiny.:ernaehrung004:

Just for you, brother! I didn't lose the AT look at all!

Crossett 08-16-2013 05:15 PM

If I had a spare $116,255 laying around this thread would convince me to spend it.

Drock78 08-16-2013 06:40 PM

and we all know that $116k is a smoking deal on it.

Compared to the price list I have for new 28 savages it's an incredible deal
