29 Savage

2014 Savage - OffshoreOnly Classifieds - Boat Classifieds - Boat Parts

I will be posting the deck build pictures as we go. Don't be in a hurry since this will probably take 4-6 months to perfect!

The hull is the proven 32 which we pulled the 28 from and now the 29 Savage with the DDC step,

POWERPLAY J 06-04-2013 07:05 PM

Cool. Hope Ya sell a bunch...

SHORTFUSE 06-04-2013 07:51 PM

I'll be waiting patiently...

Great ad, in so many ways ;)

Fantastic price for a real boat with an enclosed cabin, a real rarity nowadays.

Imagine a Magma Kettle grill in there!

It's pretty tough to match a single with all that boat offers.

(I love the snark) lol

cosmic12 06-05-2013 06:00 AM

That 32 has given so much and still doing it. The hull that deserve's some kind of award but will never get it.

DRP 06-05-2013 06:22 AM

Are you taking trades??? You MAY remember how interested and excited I am about AT! I have a boat and left nut to offer on trade! Let me know? Would also be willing to offer soul and first born...anything to be a cult member!

rchevelle71 06-05-2013 06:25 AM

Talk about dangling the carrot in front of the ass, yer killin' me Pat, but the wife is gonna really kill me if I pull the trigger.

I hope your ad copy is not interpreted as too crass...wouldn't want to offend anyone...

Looking forward to seeing hull #1!

I was thinking the same thing, but had to laugh at the comment at the same time.

rchevelle71 06-05-2013 06:57 AM

How about a stripped down speedster style with an outboard or 2:evilb:

carrera1 06-05-2013 07:23 AM

has it been 4-6 months yet?:signs069:

26sonic 06-07-2013 06:22 PM

will the cabin height be the same as the 33 and with the 502 engine what top speed would you think? will a/c be an option?

rlj676 06-07-2013 06:45 PM

Great deal for a new build, someone buy one fast and let's get this build sped up haha.

It will be the same cabin and cabin liner as the current 28. We are adding the length in the cockpit and a little in he engine bay to make the sunpad longer.

If I use the same formula that the DDC hull improved in the 33 or 37 it should run 73-75 with a 502.

Pat this is probably the best announcement in performance boating in 2013. Great product at a competitive price!

How fast would you expect with a 565 instead and how much of a price increase?

Got any line drawings to post to really get the thunder gallery going? Can this 29 be safely towed with a Tundra? :D

ActiveThunder 06-08-2013 12:59 PM

In an answer to Mark's (Cosmic) PM he sent me I should ammend my answer. The nose of the 29 will remain the same length from wind fairing to bow tip. The 28 cabin liner can be used as it will be the same dimension. The headroom will increase since we are reducing the "dip" in the deck and adding a little crown like the 33 and 37. Best guess increase in the center would be about 2".

cosmic12 06-08-2013 04:12 PM

Thanks for the info Pat.

Crossett 06-08-2013 10:54 PM

Best new single engine boat available, period. God damn I want one.

ActiveThunder 06-18-2013 06:40 PM

Officially started and moving forward.

Single I/O or eggbeater(s) with huge cockpit?

mikebrls 06-18-2013 06:57 PM

A single 725 ilmor / indy would be a nice quick setup :)

letterrip 06-18-2013 07:32 PM

I vote ....Eggbeaters with huge cockpit
2 300xs
What a great boat that would be!!!

Wonder what speed it would run?

rlj676 06-18-2013 07:46 PM

Single I/O of course!

state1310 06-18-2013 07:51 PM

single I/O

drivrswntd 06-18-2013 08:35 PM

Eggbeaters. Can't wait to see this one done! Looking to jump 4ft or so in the next year or two

Forward progress.

What i am going to go is walk you through the process of building a new mold. To build a mold we first need a "plug" which will be what the finished "part" or in this case boat will look like.

Currently we are stretching the 28 Savage to the new 29 Savage so we will utilize a 28 deck to make our modifications to it as to create the new plug so we can retain the AT traditional look. What we've done is layed up a new 28 deck in the existing mold have added the stations to support the deck while we work on it. I've attached some pictures to give you an idea of how we accomplish this.

Questions are always welcome.

classclown 06-25-2013 04:58 PM

Pat Pat does this mean we are gonna get to see a boat being built?????? or are you gonna just tease us with how you modify a plug? Either way keep up the GREAT work!!!!!! :)

cosmic12 06-25-2013 05:02 PM

Thanks Pat. Please keep this going, I love this stuff and I am sure everyone else will want more and more.

P.S. I assume and hope this will still be a flat transom boat. Please Please say its so.

ActiveThunder 06-25-2013 05:11 PM

"to it as to create the new plug so we can retain the AT traditional look" :D

What? You want a swim platform? Then the darn thing would be a 32 like all the other guys! .

My Addiction 06-25-2013 09:26 PM

I think...
A swim platform should be bolted on...
that sh!t the other guys do should be called a swim deck, add a beak and its a 35.:grinser010:

Im excited for who ever is getting this.

My Addiction 06-25-2013 09:38 PM

HOLD UP!

"Questions are always welcome"

Is this another test, tease. game?

How are you gonna fit a big block behind that seat mold? Is the angle of the pic playin tricks on me or is this gonna have "egg beaters with a huge cockpit"?

I nailed it didn't I?

or am I just dumb?

I don't want no swim platform! Just making sure you weren't putting that funny little step on the back like the one that the 43 deck had.
-Traditional- is good for me. I just wish I could order one, the way you are doing the new deck sounds like it would match the hood one my new truck!

New 28 deck out of the mold.

classclown 06-26-2013 01:29 PM

Nice! So the top portion is the "plug" and the bottom portion is the mold you will use to make the actual deck correct?

On a side note AT is a privately owned company, right? Ever consider going public, I'd like to buy stock in the company! Or would it be to much of a hassle?

The term plug refers to the model we pull the mold from. It generally is disposable when the mold is built.

Here's the easiest way I can give you an example. Hopefully this won't show my age too much: When you were a kid do you remember making a plaster model of your hand in grade school for your folks? They would take a small plate or bowl and fill it with plaster and you would press your hand into it and wait a few minutes while it dried? Pull your hand our and there was an imprint of your hand?

Your hand was the plug. The plaster dish is the mold. You could fill the mold with a material, pull it out and there would be your hand! Kinda same as a boat.

cosmic12 06-26-2013 05:53 PM

Look'n good! now the real fun begins. So this makes that 28 deck mold a throw away or are you going to use the frame for the 29?

camptappakeg69 06-26-2013 08:53 PM

Looking great, glad to see progress! My dream 29 would have twin eggbeaters but would miss the sunpad and the look of a bolt on swim platform so I'm torn about ditchin the single big block power.

My Addiction 06-26-2013 09:10 PM

Well. what is it? egg beaters or I/O? Does the same mold work for both?

c_deezy 06-26-2013 09:19 PM

The top part (white) will be cut and lengthened, faired, gelled and become the the new deck plug for the new 29 model. Then a mold will be taken from that which will become the new 29 deck. Then the actual 29 deck will be pulled from that new mold. That's why boats are so expensive, basically have to build two boats prior to being able to layup and pull the first actual boat..
