The mid range was quite a bit less with the Hydros. The numbers I have saved are:

3500 - 50
4000 - 57
4500 - 66
5000 - 75
5300 - 81 (WOT)

In my experience, the only thing the Hydros had a slight edge on was holeshot. Seemed like the higher slip worked in an advantage in that category. With the 5 speeds, if you get too aggressive getting out of the hole you can blow them out, and I never noticed that with the Hydros.

The 5-speeds blow out on my 03' no matter what I do. Can't even get on plane with them. Maximus has been the best one so far that I have tried. Have the big midrange cruise that the hydros don't have plus good hole shot. Now I need to find something bigger than the 34p.

Good to see this boat falling in good hands over the years. I was the original owner of the boat. Best Set of props I had for top end were a pair of 32 bravo labbed for a 38 Top Gun at Mercury by Phil Lipschutz. Call him as ask about his custom recipe for those 32 bravos. Hit 87.5mph. Best mid range props were 30 Maximus labbed by Bblades with cut defuser ring, thinned blades and some cup on the tips. He probably still has the specs on file. That set up still tan 83-84 mph. Hope this helps.

Hey Clark, my name is Sam, its nice to finally meet you on here! Ive read quite a few of your post about the boat on here from when you owned it, there is a lot of cool useful information on here for sure if you dig deep enough. The boat has definitely been in some good hands since you’ve owned it and its still shows like new. Thanks again for the detailed information on the props, something to look into over the winter. Just out of curiosity, are you numbers based in salt water or fresh water, and is there much of a difference?

Boat sill looks great!. My speeds are all in salt. 2mph less in fresh was about average across the RPM Range. I was able to pull to the Rev limiters on those Phil L Bravos.
