Yes, I do have the A/T fever. I'm on my 3rd Thunder. When you got the fever you want to go longer and faster. I have really enjoyed my Thunders. They are built great!Rock solid,
great in rough water, FAST, good lines and great resale value!!! Pat and Steve are great to work with. Before and after the sale. They will fix you up anyway you want it.
Miller you did see us in the Poker Runs America Mag. We were in Destin Fl. White beaches and clear water.
ummmm new cabin, 575's and free paint. I smell new glass already. :D :D
Thunderdan, I have 500efi's and run in the upper 80's

Jassman 12-10-2001 09:57 PM

Hey Miller, I know we have the sea strainers, not sure on which fuel filters. We ordered the masterlubers-preoilers with the intention of whipplecharging in the future, for that added protection, of course.
I think Steve has had enough of our changes, Ive got him adding a few things on the paint to my boat, I think Ill leave him alone for a while ;)

Miller 12-10-2001 10:15 PM

I spoke to Steve today and got the distinct impression that he was feeling under-challenged by you and Dan...I'd hate for that to be true. :D

So, new paint? I bet it will look awesome when it's finalized. Your machine already looks wicked cool from the renderings.

Jassman 12-10-2001 10:16 PM

Oh, I just checked the A.T. site to see if my one and only paint changes have been done, and behold, a shock to my eyes, Dan ,was that your boat that got that mysterious red stripe and changes to the seat colors, or did I by chance miss that, you are really a ball buster, I must admit it looks awesome though, big improvement, gee, I cant wait to start picking out colors, and seat colors, bezels and stuff like that, its starting to get exciting :D

Miller 12-11-2001 01:24 PM

Jeff and Dan, are you guys having nose cones installed on your XRs? I know that Fountain used to have Bob's nose cones installed by having Merc ship the drives directly to the machine shop that makes Bob's nose cones. I've read here that the bravo drive is considered hydrodynamically unstable above 90mph or so and can lead to blowout do to some technical aspect of the design that was figured out by guys smarter than me. Don't know if the new XR lowers have this issue, but for the $300 or so a nose cone costs (installed) you may want to check it out since you're planning on Whippling them later on.

thunderdan 12-11-2001 01:25 PM

Yeahm made some more changes. Once we tried to get the name on the side it needed to change the layout. :D It really looks good, we are still messing with it a bit more trying out some other things with the paint but for the most part I am ALMOST done. ;)
Miller,
Yes I did kind of sence that Steve was looking for some things to do which is why we starting changing the paint a bit. :D

thunderdan 12-11-2001 01:28 PM

Miller,
It is funny that you mentioned that. I was just doing an internet search on the nose cones. It is a good question to ask, and I will see what Pat has to say. You know what they say"great minds think alike." See ya tomorrow. :D :D

Miller 12-11-2001 02:20 PM

Dan, I just found an article on Bob's Machine Shop in Florida and the Bob's Nose Cone that they make and install. I'll email you the details. The article confirms what that Merc used to send bravos to the shop for Fountain before the drives were installed on new Fountain pleasureboats. It costs $300 to have a nose cone installed and takes anywhere from 2-5 days. The work is covered by a 2 year warranty.

ActiveThunder 12-11-2001 06:26 PM

ThunderDan, got a deposit on a 37 today for a guy that boats on in the "Toms River". Neighbors?

Jassman 12-11-2001 08:08 PM

Hey, whatever happened to H20 and Thongbikini, :p Where are you guys, hello, hello, So whats the deal, which boat you going with :p

Jassman 12-11-2001 08:17 PM

Hey Pat, I want to commend both you and Steve, I just read your new add in the Jan, 2002 Powerboat, I liked everything about the add except one thing, UNBELIEVABLE, where is the abbrieviation that we all have come accustomed to, what no kahunas, thats not like you, I am giving you full permission to put that on my boat, as well ASS KICKIN BOATS, or whatever else you want, just take MOISTURE MISSEL off and leave RADIO ACTIVE :p

Jassman 12-11-2001 08:30 PM

hEY, Pat, them 37 are hot, congrats on that new deposit, when are you raising the price, Im still trying to talk my buddy into your 42 when it comes out, he is going to wait and drive my boat, and if so you will have a Sonic 42ss in for a trade, he buys a new boat every 1-1/2 years, he will be due by summer. :D

Jassman 12-11-2001 08:33 PM

Hey one more post and we have 11 pages, keep it up, this is the most talked about boat company on this board ;) :D

ActiveThunder 12-11-2001 09:00 PM

J/J ask Steve about that ad. It (unfknblvble)was there but they caught it. And I had to answer to it because Steve stuck it in there without telling me. Steve fessed up and forwarded me the e-mail from Powerboat. It was amusing to see that they were cool about it. Our sales rep. (a total california cutie) said "there's no way my publisher will FKN' print this. Please advise."
You see what we did. ;)

Ted G 12-11-2001 09:07 PM

2FKNFNNY :D :D

h2owarrior 12-11-2001 09:17 PM

Jassman We're still here. We've got it down to two boats, the AT and a Formula 382. We had written off Formula for several reasons, no microwave, cabin head room (but we really like the way Formula does their cabin) and the price. Got a note from the guy we had been dealing with last night. We haven't spoken for over a month. He lowered the price (substantially) and Formula came out with a new finance program. :D Sooooooo we're taking another look at it. If the guy had not contacted us, Thunder EnLightening would have been on the list. Looks like if I do go with the AT, I just got pushed back another spot :( . This is actually getting very stressful :( I thought this was supposed to be fun. It was easier picking out a house. We went with custom on the house :D

J/J. H2O and T-bikini are great people. Hope they make the right decision as well as you guys do. Thanks for all the help (persuasion) but I will choose my response carefully.

When you buy a new toy you go from one ether cloud to the next and really have no close comparisons. It's not like going from the Mercedes dealer to the Lexus dealer to the BMW dealer all in one day.

The ride is lost in fluff.

Salesman talk a great story. But talk is cheap. What really performs is not.

We work from a love for the sport, it's our passion. We would like everyone to enjoy our efforts. Most will not. But the ones that do know they have something special.

Jassman 12-11-2001 09:24 PM

Allright, I give you back your kahuna's. The only way your going to get that out there then is to put it on the side of my boat, scratch RADIO ACTIVE for UNFCNBLVBLE ;)

Jassman 12-11-2001 09:49 PM

h20, I WANT YOU TO Please LISTEN TO ME CAREFULLY, iT IS ONLY AS STRESSFUL AS YOU MAKE IT. Compare apples to apples, and then when you think both boats are equipped the same, one might be built better in areas that you cant see, just like I tell people who buy my custom homes, 2x6 walls are better than 2x4s No wood in your boat, Mantex, and AT constructs their hulls is much better than the others. I have owned Formula and it was a much better boat than my Fountain and Powerquest, but not the same as these Thunders, and I know for a fact that the Formula is more money, like I said before I purchased my AT the comparable Formula 382 was 296K retail and they dont take off more than 27% of retail, and the cabin is nice, but the printed 5'1" cabin height was incorrect, I measured it and it was 4"10", over 1 foot shy of Thunders. You need to call me collect tonight, now would be ok 228-255-3400, I will share a few things with you on my homework between AT,Sonic,PP,Outerlimits,Donzi,Formula.Pantera
or call me on my cell phone228-216-0900 thanks guys :D

h2owarrior 12-11-2001 09:54 PM

You guy's are incredible :D :D The passion you have is incredible and contagious :p I'll give you a call tomorrow on your cell phone. What would be a good time ? :)

OopSeaDazey 12-11-2001 09:55 PM

H2o, It is fun, i have been reading these posts...whats the problem? You buy quality craftsmanship (shop at Lord & Taylor) and expect fine product, or shop price (k-mart shoppers). From an outsiders point of view, how can someone go from well crafted boats like the Active Thunder, Powerplay and Sonic to a "snap-together" boat (Formula)...NOW, i have heard everything.

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:03 PM

Pat,

That's great new about the deposit. I will have to get with you tomorrow on who it is.

Kevin,
Formula? Where did that come from? When you and I talked they were not even in the mix? ANd Jeff is correct, the headroom is nothing like the thunder and I thought the cabin was small. Again my offer is there if you want to call me.

Jassman 12-11-2001 10:05 PM

CaLL ME NOW IF YOU WANT, IF NOT 7AM-5PM TOMORROW ON CELL OR OFFICE PHONE WHICH IS IN MY HOUSE 228-255-3400 OFFICE IN HOUSE
228-216-0900 CELL Thanks :)

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:07 PM

h20

I would look at construction of the boats side by side as well, their stringer system, how they put the hull and the deck together, fit and finish, ammenitites they provide, warentee Do not get me wrong I think Formula builds a very nice boat, but IMO it is not in the same catagory than the thunder. Remember the thread on custom vs not boats. Oh no Kevin, please do not do it, no, no, no.
:D :D

You are gonna loose that floating feeling that you described getting on plane. You described that you were concerned that you labored to get up on plane in the sonic, imagine in a heavier boat what it will be like getting up.

Jassman 12-11-2001 10:13 PM

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:16 PM

Kevin,

OopSeaDazey 12-11-2001 10:18 PM

Super strong "caulk" and it is guaranteed to last at least 6 months!

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:19 PM

Jassman,
GLUE? :D

OopSeaDazey 12-11-2001 10:20 PM

is it waterproof?

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:23 PM

H20,

I know I said I would not comment any more, but I am full of chit. I know you said you were about 5 ft 7, you can stand clear up in the thunder, but you would be bending down in the formula. :D :D Sorry could not resist. I would deceide pretty soon before the date becomes into the summer. I think you will be pushing may or june. Also, I do not know if you will be able to hang in there with the big boys in our Thunders at the next Thunder Run.
;) :D :D

Bad warrior, Baaaaaaaad :p

Jassman 12-11-2001 10:28 PM

I know weanie, glue, you rocket scientist, isnt it called permatex and is there not a problem with this bond, I read a thread on this on some board , the same board where Donzi was having hull delamination problems, fairings cracking, and boats blistering. I know they still have not fixed my uncles 2000
38 Daytona, boat looks great but way to many problems, and you can wipe your ass with that 5 year bs z-care, they fight you all the way. THATS WHAT MAKES IT UNENJOYABLE.

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:29 PM

You have been a very bad warrior haven't you? I think tbikini will have to spank some sence back into you. I know she is a Thunder Fan, and can not wait to try on the latex. ;) :D :D

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:30 PM

Jassman,

I KNOW, I was just being funny. As soon as I found out that they had less than 5 ft of head room, you know my head is big enough, :D , that was all she wrote.

I am tough on my boats, i like the rough stuff, that is why I needed a boat that could handle it and still deliver a smoooooth ride.

[ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: thunderdan ]

Tbikini 12-11-2001 10:32 PM

Jassman and Thunderdan

H20 says he would love to call you tonight but he has drank way too much beer and his judgement is impaired. Will have to wait until he is at work tomorrow. :D Hopefully his judgement isn't impaired there too

Listen guys...I'm as sold on AT as much as you guys, but give Formula a break. How many older great looking Formulas do you see running around out there???? And how many do you see racing? I personally think AT should be out there in that venue! Maybe they don't want to be accused of breaking some APBA rule having topless women in the boats when they go over 90mph

[ 12-11-2001: Message edited by: Tbikini ]

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:34 PM

Tbikini,

I know you are. I just want to help him out. Like I said in my post, Formulas are good boats, but Thunders are grreeeeaaattt, you know like tony the tiger. We just like to have fun, that is all.

PS we missed your posts... :D

Why no micro?

TBIKINI, spank his ass like a red headed step child, personally I liked to be flogged, ( got that off of REAL SEX 24) :p

And Dan, I was just messin around :p

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:38 PM

I know you were Jeff, any crowns tonight. :D

OopSeaDazey 12-11-2001 10:40 PM

TBikini...yo go girl!

thunderdan 12-11-2001 10:43 PM

Ok, h20 and tbikini, you win. If you do not call and place your order by tomorrow, myself, Jassman and Steve are going to get all latexed up and bring you both flowers at your place of employment. :D :D We will be posing as your long lost relatives in for the holidays.
