H20,

I second everything Jassman said. :D Man Jeff I do not know you could speak so intelligently. Must mean you did not have and crowns last evening... :D Kevin, seriously, just order the thunder be done with it, we will see what I can do about pushing back the thunder run or maybe we just set up another. I know it is the right decesion, and I would notwant you to get all upset when tbikini is in my thunder in her red, and blue latezx, oh yeah and I forget red. Come on Kevin, join the family. :D :D

Advantage 12-13-2001 03:31 PM

Yo, what's up? Just some information to facilitate your decision H2O. We boat with friends of ours who just purchased a 2001 382 Fastech with 500 EFI's. We have a '99 Baja Outlaw with 454 Mags that smokes his arse. His top end freshwater speed is 72-73 mph (GPS). Yeah, that's it! His ammenities and cabin are nice; but, at that speed he can keep it. Anyway, we all know you'll make the right decision.

Tbikini 12-13-2001 04:00 PM

Okay guys....Go check out the sermon I got on the Formula board. Plexus all around and bolts every 18 inches...Fiberglass can't reach all these places....blah blah blah etc. Now what am I supposed to think. Why doesn't someone just use plexus, fiberglass and bolts, then we'll know the boat won't fly apart no matter what :D Seriously though, we are much easier on our boats than most so I don't think that having the "come aparts" is a big issue. (As Pat and Steve know, there is no way I would have been out in that "mild" stuff we went out in for our demo ride) However...having the interior of our boat be perfect is a big issue for me. Ok Ok...I'm as anal as some of you. I figure if my AT is built as tough as everybody says it is, then the interior should prove it too! If I look inside and see areas that are a little sloppy then I wonder about the rest of the boat. (Which is why a new Powerquest is out of the question!) This is not to say that I think AT is sloppy inside!!!!!! It definitely is not!!! I pointed a few things out to Steve when we were in one of the boats and he agreed that it was something that should be fixed. All I can say is that if we do buy the AT, Steve and Pat will love me as much as Jassman and Thunderdan! Remember...we plan on spending weekends and sometimes a week at a time on this boat, so any little imperfection is going to drive me crazy. It's like I told Steve...I'm not trying to trash the boat...I just want it to be the best it can be so that everyone else will be jealous :D

Well...anyway...so much for the woman's point of view. H20 says it's time to make a decision, so hopefully after this weekend it will be done  We'll see about that. Sure would love to join your Thunder run at Lake of the Ozarks ;)

h2owarrior 12-13-2001 06:21 PM

Well, you guys had to go a do it, now Tbikini's undies are all in bundle  (get it, thong bikini, undies in a bundle  ) Its quite a sight to see :D .

Thanks for all the encouragement. I spoke with Pat today..................................he said forget it, I am not selling you a boat. He said anybody who is that slow at making a descision has no place in an Active Thunder  . I agreed.

He did say that Tbikini could buy one though so I still have a chance :D

I really just wanted to post something. :D Sorry if I violated anyone

Thunderstruck 12-13-2001 06:25 PM

Jassman,

Good luck on your Thunder. We live in Lake Charles, LA and would like to boat w/you guys one day. I'm currently doing some winter maintenance on THUNDERSTRUCK but we'll be ready for spring/late winter. Do you Tickfaw200 or Royal Purple or Emerald Coast? Saw your boat on gcoffshore.com, looks good! :)

Thunderstruck 12-13-2001 06:34 PM

Allright H2O, since you can't make up your mind, I will flip a coin for you. Heads-AT, Tails-Formula. Well, looks like Heads wins. Place your credit card number on the board and we'll make sure your down payment gets to AT!!!
:D :D :D

With friends like these who needs enemies, right? ;) ;)

h2owarrior 12-13-2001 06:37 PM

Would you prefer Master card, Visa or American Express ?

Jassman 12-13-2001 08:21 PM

Better yet, Active Thunder Dan and myself are going to hold TBIKINI hostage, latex her all up in stars and stripes and air brush for highlights. :p :) (thong is optional)
Your worse than some of my homeowners, do I want a roof with my house or not.
The good thing is that Pat will at least let the intelligent one in your family get a THUNDER :D I really want you guys and my buddy to get the last deals of the century. Now, this is the last time im going to ask, call me if you feel like talking about the other boats, I will give you my honest scoop :D 228-255-3400

Jassman 12-13-2001 08:28 PM

THUNDERSTRUCK, HOW YA DOIN, WE HAVENT BEEN ON A POKER RUN IN 4 YEARS, MOVED FROM Wisconsin, plan on doing 4 to 5 this year once we get our new Thunder. I am unsure of the area but have some close local friends that can get us there, and are looking to find some boating buddies. Not to many boats like ours out here, looks like its going to be a great year, and I will be servicing the boat over Total Marine and Service in Slidell, Call me if you ever want to talk 228-255-3400 Jassby Custom Homes, number goes to the house, Good Luck to You :D

Miller 12-13-2001 08:40 PM

Tbikini also brings up a valid question I've had for some time. What harm is caused by using Plexus, fiberglassing the seem and using through bolts? Wouldn't each method reinforce the others?

Jassman 12-13-2001 08:40 PM

Pat, if you would,go to the Formula board, under boilerdaddy, read the post that was anwsered about the through bolting and the plexus making a stronger bond vs total glassing, am I missing something or could someone please educate my dumb ass  Are they the only manufacturer that bond their hulls and top deck that way. Thankyou, will be humblely waiting a response

Miller 12-13-2001 08:44 PM

16 year-old brother is on his way to the hospital after having a high-speed, single car accident. I don't know his condition, but the '01 Jaguar XJ8 he was driving is totaled and burning uncontrollably at the moment. I'll update when I know what his condition is.

Thanks in advance for any prayers.

thunderdan 12-13-2001 08:49 PM

Paul,
Sorry to hear about your brother, my parayers are with him. :(

Jassman 12-13-2001 08:53 PM

Sandy and I are saying a prayer for your brother. Hope all is well, God Bless.

thunderdan 12-13-2001 08:53 PM

Now h20, h20 what are we going to do with you. Jeff is correct, we are holding tbikini hostage and we will be pealing of small pieces of latex until you get your deposit to pat. We will be sending you the latex in the mail so you know we are serious. We will not take a verbal commitment, we need cash, or certified check. we have a plan in place and we can not wait until the weekend. :D

thunderdan 12-13-2001 08:56 PM

Jeff,
you know the saying "that will go over like a fart in church" well if Pat goes and posts on the formula board why that method is not the best, it will not be a fart it will be a bit more messy. Pat is ballzy, but as you already know he is never disrespectful to another product. Jeff great idea about the hostage situation..... :D :D

Thunderstruck,
you up for a little thunder run, see the other post...

Thunderstruck 12-13-2001 08:58 PM

Jassman, we have a pretty good assortment of Hi Perf boats in Lake Charles. We have a lot of water but not a lot of places to boat to locally. The Tickfaw River/Lake Marepas/Lake Ponchartrain areas are awesome boating so we go there a couple of times a year. We went to Gulfport, MS last summer and went to Ship Island, good time. Destin/Ft Walton is the Emerald Coast run which is unbelievable!! Saw Thunder Roy over at the Emerald Coast last August. Also, Clear Lake, TX is off of Galveston Bay and has a huge assortment of perf boats, ask Roy. Good boating and partying in Clear Lake, especially on July 4 weekends. I'll call you.

H2O, any card will do buddy. Let's Roll!!! ;) ;)

h2owarrior 12-13-2001 09:14 PM

Miller, Sorry to hear about your brother. Hope all turns out well and we'll keep him in our prayers.

Jassman 12-13-2001 09:33 PM

Dan, WHAT i SAID ON MY POST WAS READ THE fORMULA pOST ON PLEXUS AND BONDING THE HULL TOGETHER AND explain the differences between the two, I never suggested to have anybody go on that board, especially Pat, I just want to understand the method in which they are using for my educational purposes, thats all, simple ;)

Thunderstruck 12-13-2001 09:34 PM

Miller our prayers are with you and your family. Tom

Miller 12-13-2001 10:45 PM

Thanks for all the prayers. My little brother was just released from the hospital. He has some minor burns, is emotional and is suffering from a bit of shock. The doctors treated the burns, gave him some valium to call him down and kept him there for about 2 hours under observation. They said he will be okay.

Now, the police, firemen and EMTs on the scene all are shaking their heads (from what they said) because they don't understand how he walked away. The car is bent in an L shape and the trunk and left side of the car are attached to one tree, the hood is missing, the front bumper is missing, the engine block is where the passenger seat should be. The passenger roofline collapsed. The passenger seat is gone and only the driver's seat is intact. No other passenger would have survived based on the metal that tore through each seat. Finally, the car caught fire and it took 3 trucks and 10 firemen to put it out after more than an hour. However, the driver's station is remarkably well preserved and there appears no reason for that to have happened.

All I can say is Thank God. Thank God.

I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

thunderdan 12-13-2001 11:10 PM

Miller, glad to hear he is ok, not only walking away, but out of the hospital, man is he lucky.

Jeff,

I know, I was just jokin around. I am not an expert but to answer tbikinis question as an layman it would seem to me that the Formula method has got to be a lot more economical as well as expediant. They are a production builder, who's goal(as it should be) to streamline the process to make it faster and more economical. Plexas glue -vs- fiberglass bonding? I would estimate that having someone walk around the joint with a large gun(this is shown in their broshure) squirt some Plexus around the hull edges (about 30 minutes) and then bolt it together (about 2 hours) or have a guy climb into the hull, with resin and fiberglass and carefully roll out layers to bond the hull to the deck (about 2-3 days, this I know because I asked Pat how long it will take to bond the hull and the deck). I would guess it is beneficial to glass togehter. This is the same way Cigarette, Apache did and Magnum do it. Just my observation, but what the hell do I know, I am just a pool boy. :D :D

Roy Schneider 12-13-2001 11:55 PM

Pat if I go ahead and order a 42 right now,
will you put me ahead of these guys? :D :D

jafo 12-14-2001 12:28 AM

We sure loved our Formula, even thought of buying another, but signed the papers on the 28AT today! Life is good! :D

Miller- Glad to hear little brother is OK- not the right kind of excitement at the holiday season.

Jim

[ 12-14-2001: Message edited by: ThunderousDaze ]

Miller 12-14-2001 10:17 AM

Steve, you might not want to post the paint design. Afterall, you could end up giving Dan and Jeff ideas to change their own designs... :D

thunderdan 12-14-2001 10:26 AM

Changing the design, hummmmmm :D :D

thunderdan 12-14-2001 09:19 PM

Jassman 12-14-2001 09:48 PM

One of the graphics Steve is redoing is just the final alterations on my 37, the boat goes in the mold next week , I cant wait.

Congrats Jafo, I like those color graphics, super nice boat and look forward in meeting you next year in some Poker or THUNDER RUNS.

THUNDERSTRUCK, I have not been on any poker runs for the last 4 years since we moved from Racine,WI. We plan on attending the Destin run, Galveston, and would like to go up the Tickfaw river, I hear its nice, keep us posted for dates, our boat should be finished around April. Make sure you check out the south/east side of cat island, next to ship island, all you will need is a towel to lay on, nude volleyball and twister.
:D

ScreaminDemon 12-15-2001 03:56 PM

Seems kinda quiet today, must be because Thunderdan is gone!

ThunderousDaze 12-15-2001 06:57 PM

Jassman, now that thunderdan is gone, i'm accepting the higgest bid to replace his slot...you offered me $100 right?

Thunderstruck 12-15-2001 07:27 PM

Jassman,

I'd love to buy you and yours your first worm buckets at the infamous "Prop Stop Inn". The Tickfaw 200 is the first Saturday in May. We stay in Hammond, LA and trailer to the river. I'll keep you posted. The Royal Purple run is ~third weekend in June. Thunder Roy can tell you about the Clear Lake/Galveston, TX area.

Thunder Roy, rumor has it you have been looking at a 32' Skater. How about it?

yzbert 12-15-2001 10:26 PM
