Plus, there's nothing sexier than that long-dash 3-pack.

Whoa whoa hold the fort and back the hell no truck up, im doing 92 GPS with advertized 850 sc on 3a's
I have a short stagger with a well half pretty weak cabin. If I dropped or juiced these with superchillers and race hatches Ill bet I would piss Mark off big time or be the biggest annoyance cause he could not walk from me
1000's are over rated. You dont need that much power to make these things move that well, then again I have a light layup as well with a short stagger just pointing some stuff out is all.
Mark does not have the fastest apache on the planet I think PApache's race boat is flat out THE fastest one out there but without knowing each and every boat built by them you will never be able to verify that.
Just a fact
Happy boating

Re: Red Death

HA I got the best deal in the WORLD for a 41 apache, might not be a 6 boat but hell 3a works for me and the price was so much lower than the dollars you guys are bickering about LMFAO
Sorry had to twist the knife.
75 grand for 850sc's on 3a's and a brand new aluminum trailer

Might not be the prettiest 41 ever made (yet anyway) but it will be soon.
they do cost alot to keep up I will admit that Mark is right.
I dont think you need an open check book but im into my boat now for around 10 g's and have had it for 5 months.
Im going to pace myself and paint it this winter at Billy's but its a total labor of love, I will NEVER EVER EVER sell my boat unless war party gets offered to me for an even trade.
End of story

Nothing could back up my statements more then the new Secente Chief listed in the forem ads under Apache. The boat new can be had for mid 400s NEW with the BEST of everything- state of the art build(carbon fiber), number 6S,Chief Engines, 50,000 paint job ect, ect.Once again how do you justify mid 300s for a 20 year old hull when new is mid 400s.

Comanche3Six 10-30-2006 05:07 PM

Re: Red Death

If you put Tonto and that old Moccasin side by side and said to me. "Take your pick" Immediately I would back right up to Tonto with my truck and haul it away. And you will still be clueless as to why. Take Mike's advice "Go buy a Baja, you don't deserve to own an Apache." This is my final statement to you.

I think it's pretty simple really, they own their boats and they can sell them for whatever they want too. Just remember there is an ass for every seat. If you chosse not to pay those prices, then more power to you. Best of luck finding what you are looking for. By bashing someone and their price all you have done is make yourself look cheap..just my opinion though...

They own their boats BUT they cant sell them for what they want to.Take Commanche for example .His boat bas been for sale on the forem for many ,many months..He has not sold it because the price is too high..Same boats for sale on the same forem, month after month.WHY.?

PS I bet anything that that new Chief sells for mid 400s WAY BEFORE a early 90s tripple engine incomplete hull does for 80,000.00

[QUOTE=REDDEATH]PS I bet anything that that new Chief sells for mid 400s WAY BEFORE a early 90s tripple engine incomplete hull does for 80,000.00[/QUOTE

Go buy the Chief, then post at the chief forum. If you don't like the Chief buy a 100k Apache and see what you get. Just please, for the love of god, buy something and go away. I get sick of the trolls that appear on the Apache board. Your way to clueless to own an Apache.

DirtyMoney 10-30-2006 06:13 PM

Re: Red Death

By the way the hull on the Chief is about 7 years old and sat in a warehouse for many years before being rigged.

I will sell you my 41 mold for 50k and you can build as many as you would like and with whatever materials, just some thing to think about.

They are what they are. But there is no way a 100k Apache is anywhere as nice as say a Tonto or Flying Falcon. Like I said go buy a boat, talks cheap. You get what you pay for with these boats. Sorry for chiming in, I forgot you're an expert on all things Apache.

RD - You really don't know what you are talking about, do you ? Comparing apples to oranges!
You should realize that some of the guys in this forum like Robert, Magnum Mark, Beau, and Carl have probably forgotton more about Apache Powerboats than you will ever know. These guys have dealt with every single problem that owning an Apache brings on, some of them more than once. They have "been there, done that" bro .

Comparing the Chief boat to TeamPrime just kinda' says it all.

You should stop talkin' $hit and listen, they have sound advice to give.....
Hans

Whats up Mike ? How you livin' ?

Re: Red Death

I don't recall Tonto being offered for sale. I think his statement was akin to "If someone had to have it..."

Remember, there are only a few Apaches out there and of those, a small percentage are "the right one" Tonto is one of those boats. One that's way heavy or has sustained damage (or has been on the bottom) probably isn't.

As far as a new Chief or McManus, they're not for me. I think alot of people feel the same way. In my mind, Saber has been more faithful to the Apache heritage than any other. Have you seen their 36? It's what the Apache 36 Bobby built should have been- a downsized 41.

Here's my take- you want a 41 Apache that runs 85+ and does it turn-key reliably? It's going to take $225K, whether you buy a complete boat in top shape or redo one yourself. You want over-the-top graphics, rigging or amenities? Tack that on to the price. There are precious few exceptions- MM's 41 is a flyweight boat so it will run those speeds with less power and #3's will live a reasonable life. It's also a long-dash 3-pack with no cabin- life is full of tradeoffs. Also, you'll rarely see an Apache project boat or a fire sale. The cost of entry is steep to start with and the boats have some liabilities (like weight and the need for power) that only some hardcore SOB with the resources to back it up will wade into this pond. These aren't the guys who need to fire-sale things or run when it gets tough. No too many folks bought a 41 as their first boat.

You can probably get by cheaper with any other brand of boat- something like a Cig 38. You're also going to take a hit on rough-water capability- I went from a Cougar 46 back to the Apache 41- the Cougar wouldn't keep up with the 41 in big, nasty water. Also, what price do you put on uniqueness? If you are into getting attention, you can't do better than Apache. Go anywhere there are lots of fast boats. I've seen people walk past million-dollar cats and turbine boats to look at the Apache tied up just past them.

But then again, what do I know?

Gotta love the passions aroused by the mere mention of these legendary boats.

McManus builds Apache. Don Aronow had faith in him. Kramer had faith in him. And for good reason. That's why his boats are held in high reguard. He is the best!
