I just wish he would play the sell me a boat game!:cool-smiley-027:

I am finding myself looking at Fountains, Skaters and Cigarettes now when what I really would rather have is an Apache. It isnt good!

Don't settle if an Apache is what you want. There's no reason to do that. Just keep plugging away at finding another one (or possibly a 36?).

Good luck.

ar15meister 10-18-2007 03:00 PM

36 is too much boat for me at this point.

It is eithera 28 Apache or a Cigarette Bullet and I would rather have the Apache but maybe god doesnt want me to have one it seems.....still looking.

Today that is......don't give up! Don't settle and buy what you want.

You say you want an Apache or Cigarette Bullet. You mentioned Fountains and Skater's earlier too! I would certainly not disrespect any other boat manufacturer. What I am saying is: "patience is a virtue" and "good things come to those who wait."

Keep looking until you find that 28 Apache or Cigarette Bullet. Do not settle for something you don't really want just because you don't find it today.

I own a 28, great boat hold out for what you want. Rock solid boat and fast with twin 600's

White Knuckles 10-20-2007 11:40 AM

I found this one this morning. It says 29. I am not sure if Apache made a 29?

ar15meister 10-21-2007 09:27 AM

thanks I knew about that one.

corrado 10-22-2007 10:24 AM

If you are serious about that Riggs boat then call them up again and make an appointment to see it in person and at their earliest convience. bring money to close the deal if you like the boat and it fits your budget buy it on the spot.
Im sure it's a nice boat (rigged hull) and they aren't going to give it away.

Tommy

You wouldn't expect a broker to know anything about a boat they had, would you?

thanks for the advice.

I am just worried about making the trip and wasting my time and theirs if we are way apart on pricing.

If that is the same boat I think it is I almost bought it in 1992. It was at Fort Apache and the asking proces was $45K with 454 mags and 200+ hours.

TexomaPowerboater 10-22-2007 04:37 PM

ar15meister - Have you looked into any 28 panteras yet?

ar15meister 10-23-2007 09:06 AM

I have got something cooking right now.

We will see what pans out, dont want to say anything yet.

Maybe you can sell it to me.

I hear Pantera makes a great 28, maybe you want to switch things up??:cool-smiley-011:

swneedle 10-26-2007 08:23 AM

I go back and forth on selling the boat as I'm sure most do. Do i sell and move up? Its a reall good boat and in real good condition. I might see what they are selling for.

Hollowpoint 12-04-2007 01:40 PM

Apaches are even more rare than Cig Bullets! If you can't find one that suits your needs, do a search on the Cig forum for a Bullet. There are 3 or 4 that are not listed for sale, but can be bought (check the Bullet thread). I have only run with one Apache. They do handle rough stuff well, but not any better than the Bullet IMHO. Either one will give you a good value and not look like every other boat at the dock :)

ar15meister 12-05-2007 06:11 PM

Love the bullets but I have decided I will buy an Apache or nothing else.

I am nuts about these things, now all I need to do is find one.

I love the history, the looks and the fact that it is a relative of the big ones, which in y opinion are the most mean spirited and badassed boats you can buy.

So I guess this thing to me is more a muscle car than an souped up Porsche, if that makes sense to you guys....

I am waiting ready to pounce on the first nice one I see:cool-smiley-011:

I have been flirting with the idea of buying a Pantera but I have decided after a long drunken night about 2 weeks ago and talking to some pretty serious offshore guys that nothing will make me as happy as an Apache.:cool-smiley-011:

Speaking of which, anyone know where Eric Froberg's old race boat is?? The one that was for sale a couple of years ago with the single and the stand up coockpit??????

ar15meister 12-09-2007 08:46 PM

bump

still looking guys, help is appreciated.

thanks, Adam:cool-smiley-011:

You certainly have some options. Let us know when you are ready to shop!!

TexomaPowerboater 12-19-2007 09:53 AM

She is finally home. I'm extremely impressed and could not be any more satisfied with the overall condition of the boat. I tried to take some pictures, but it was night and they didn't come out well. I'll take some more this weekend.

Anybody catch that 28 apache on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Apach...QQcmdZViewItem

Looks like somebody took the interior out of a 28 Pantera and put it into that apache. I didn't think you could get the 4 seat bench to fit. Did they make any changes to the 28 apache over the short time they were built. I noticed that this particular apache has a different cabin door and the door to the v-birth is also different. I guess they redid the doors.

What's rough about it? It's an 88'....

Interior is newer, paint looks good...deck shines nice... The picture of the engines isn't great and you can't even see any details..

If you're serious about buying one of these 28's you need to travel out there and look at it in person. Or need to re-evaluate your budget IMHO. :(

Looks clean to me. Can't see the engine bay so can't speak for that but that boat is much cleaner than the only other 2 braves you can find for sale.
