Who ever told you that??

Step up to 41' you know you will ... or want to ... someday anyway. :D

ar15meister 09-27-2007 04:22 PM

Okay so I need to find 28 Apaches for sale.

Anyone know of any out there?

Anybody got one for sale?

turbo2256b 09-27-2007 04:33 PM

I believe Warpaint is selling one

ar15meister 09-27-2007 04:37 PM

He is. I know about that one already but I need to see some others for comparison. I am looking at one other one (aside from Warpaint's) and I want some more for comparison.

Help is appreciated.

Mel Riggs has a beautiful 28 never being wet! Give him a call tell him Lucy sent you.:p 920 872-2728

Chris Sunkin 09-28-2007 06:53 AM

The 28 thinks it's a 41. I've seen them out running with 35's in sloppy water and more than holding their own. If you didn't know how long it was, you'd swear it was at least 5' longer. Like all Apaches, they take some power to get moving. They are pretty heavy, but that's the price of that sweet Apache ride. No particular problems to be aware of. Most of the one's I've seen don't have external steering. Mine didn't and I immediately remedied that. Make sure you have enough truck to pull it, they weigh about twice of a Fountain 27.

I believe that the boat belongs to PowerplayDave here on OSO and used to belong to CDF5. I've been doing a little research myself:D

I was going to look at it this weekend and he called me last night and told me it was sold. Maybe it isnt, I am just going on what he said but I am sure my money is as green as everyone else, or maybe he just doesnt like Canadians.....:cool-smiley-027:

TexomaPowerboater 09-28-2007 03:54 PM

Thats too bad.....:(

ar15meister 09-29-2007 10:32 AM

Spoke with Mark at Apache yesterday. What a nice guy, actually took the time to talk to me and help me out with this search I am on.

Anyways he gave me a lead on a boat owned by a friend of his, also a nice man. Unfortunately the price was, in my opinion, not really in line with the market and the price of other boats that are for sale or being sold. I wouldnt want to make a lowball offer and insult the gentleman so I am going to pass I think. Too bad.

The search continues......

Chris Sunkin 10-01-2007 05:25 PM

Send a PM to Beau- rbr2328

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/member.php?u=9902

He has the Apache 28 molds and can build you one.

If you'd be open to something a little bigger, I'd look at the Saber 34. probably the cleanest lines on any offshore boat made today. Looks like a mini-41.

BRD 10-01-2007 05:28 PM

That would be real nice with a couple 525's in it !!!

Nykamp 10-01-2007 06:15 PM

Mc Manus has the 28 molds, and his track record for building great boats, would make me call there first.

Nykamp 10-01-2007 06:44 PM

Speedo, you seem to have a lot of time to invest in talking about everybody APACHES, and how little they are worth, or what you think there condition may or may not be, come to key west I would like to meet you.

Keep your eyes open for me, I'm still looking!

Beau has 28 molds- I don't know the origin. Weren't there more than one set? What about Saber's?

Stormrider 10-01-2007 09:23 PM

chris, saber28 is not from the apache molds, the 41 is.
Also, i can only remember rbr mentioning the 41s too.

I shot him a PM. He should be by later to clear this up.

Did the Froberg molds go to McManus?

ar15meister 10-02-2007 03:46 PM

See this is why I want to buy an Apache....

Simple thread about finding a boat turns into argument about status and molds and whatever the heck else.

Never a dull moment with this crowd judging by the past threads:cool-smiley-011::cool-smiley-027:

JnT 10-02-2007 04:51 PM

RBR2328 ,Beau, has the 21 and one of the 41 molds last time I talked to him. That was a good while back.

Old Apache's are not worth a damn! You have to keep pouring money into them to have fun. (just like everything else that floats flies or ....you know)
BUT you will have a boat sought after by many, rather than a boat everybody already has.............

DirtyMoney 10-02-2007 05:22 PM

JnT is correct I have the 21 and 41 molds. I never knew what Thad an co. did with the 28 molds. If anyone is interested in the 21 or 41 we may be able to talk Brian at Joker boats into laying one up.

Chris Sunkin 10-02-2007 06:01 PM

I must have mistook the 21 for the 28.

Do you have the race deck mold for the 41?

Are the molds that Thad Allen had the ex-Froberg one's?

DirtyMoney 10-02-2007 06:27 PM

Yes, Thad had the Froberg molds. I inquired about them back when they were still operating but never followed up. The deck I have is the race deck but deck molds were all the same they just cut back the dash and shortened the engine hatches. My deck is also a flat deck without the three strakes running up the center.

I have dreams of a rigid-as-hell carbon fiber 41, not too heavy but just stout enough to not get bounced around. Six-pack cockpit, staggered 1200's on dry 6's. Gonna' have to wait until I'm done spending $70K a year on college for 2 kids. :(

lucy 10-02-2007 08:56 PM

That 28 has your name on it!!!!!!!!:p
