Interior is newer, paint looks good...deck shines nice... The picture of the engines isn't great and you can't even see any details.. If you're serious about buying one of these 28's you need to travel out there and look at it in person. Or need to re-evaluate your budget IMHO. :( The top deck on my 28 needs a total restoration, but that ain't going to cost much and its only cosmetic. If the boat was perfect it wouldn't of been for sale. If it was perfect - it would be worth the $82K price it sold for new back in 1990. |
If i was in a position to buy it i would not hesitate. In fact I am trying to figure out how right now.

The boat looks great, talked to the owner today, it has some problems, but its a good project boat, it does have a transome leak????

or by a new boat...
its not called used for no reason. looks pretty good to me. Nothing a good rigger couldn't clean up for a few bucks. |
The 28 Apache listed on Ebay is a good used boat for a 1988, the owner is a nice guy and very informative about the boat, I tried to get him to sell it today, but he want to let the Ebay auction Ride. Will have to see what happens????? like the old saying goes money talks, BS walks AR15mester,

I wonder what his reserve is.... I personally would need to do alot to that boat to get it where I would want it which is why I said it looked rough. if it has a transom leak that is a whole other story, is that true? |

I dont think its too bad for a 20 year old boat, his reserve is low enuff, but the boat will probally need motors and drive work, he thinks the bellows are leaking, I personaly think its the transom. I think it would be a great project boat, but it will take alot of money to make it right.

While we are talking about 28's. Has anybody ever replaced the gas tank in one? I understand its just a matter of time in these old boats, or is it???????????
LSU shouldn't be allowed to play a BCS game in the superdome:D |

Who cares about motors, drive, and gas tanks, for what this guy on Ebay is going to let the boat go for it would be worth haveing it, I would just like to park it outback and look at it. i never have time to use my boats anyway:cool-smiley-011:

make sure the surveyor checks the transom real good if the guy says there is a leak.
|
29k? Buy it! Thats a great price for a 28. Even if you have to do a little work. Well worth the $! I put alot of $ in mine, never got it back but the ride was worth it.
|
The reserve is lower then 29, but the owner wont sell it for the reserve before the auction ends, trust me i tried, very hard!

How do we know the engines have to be rebuilt? Has the owner said they do, and/or how many hours?
I sold my scarab with 502/500's with about 450 hrs on them and I believe they're still running.....solid lifter cam.... |

CFD5 - hey Tim, thanks for putting all that money into her. |
If you think the old ones are expensive....call up McManus and have him build you a new one....just have the bottle of ky lube ready before making the call....

No problem, I enjoyed it! Definitely worth every penny. Enjoy her and take good care of her. It took my over 2 years to get it look that good. |
What happened to the 28 on ebay? Yesterday it was up to 25k and now is back down to 17k> Did someone go look at it and retract their bid?
|
I don't get it -- if you go on to E-bay in one spot it comes up as $24,700, yet when I log in through my watch it now it shows $19,600.
On Iron Planet last week a gremlin got into there system and sold a whole auction off 10 days before it was to go -- they were scrambling -- but did get everything back in order. That's the problem with this online auction stuff -- all comes down to the software:rolleyes: |
Here is one for sale, says it's a 29'. You guys know if that is correct or a typo? I wasn't aware that they ever made a 29' Apache.

Don't think they ever did a 29'-- that boat has been mentioned on here before. It is a 28' -- don't know if anyone has actually went to look at it yet though.

The cabin was soaking wet from a leaking hatch and the boat sitting in the rain. Also look at the floor between the bolters it starting to peel up. I don't know if that is a major problem but whats under it could be. |
I went and looked at that boat in November it is rough. Has anybody seen the one on ebay?
|
Look at post #6 in 29 Apache huh
|
I wonder who got the Apache 28 on Ebay, the price was right:D
