Very Nice Work-Looks Great !!!

WMF 04-08-2008 07:05 PM

Thanks Rob my guy has been working his ass on it, I would have rather bought your boat! but I dont think I have spent the amount of money it would take to buy your boat off you!!! Bring your 21 Apache up and I will try to sell it for you, let me know.

WMF 04-08-2008 07:06 PM

Thank you NyKamp

R Addiction 04-08-2008 08:56 PM

Still a Resin Bucket!!!:party-smiley-004::D Looks great! When do you pick it up?

R Addiction 04-08-2008 08:58 PM

Bill, Who is making the new switchplates? Nice job. I have a local buddy that does them for me. I'm going to have him make my switch panel on the bottom of my dash if he can do a different font.:cool-smiley-011:

WMF 04-08-2008 09:59 PM

I am not sure who is doing the switch plate's John, it might be the same guy you use? Im hoping they deliver the boat this weekend. I have alot of work left and want to get it back, as busy as I am right now Im worried I wont be able to get it finished before summer, I might have to buy something else till this old resin bucket is done, maybe a Active Thunder:D, or I will just get another Donzi ZR for this summer:D

R Addiction 04-08-2008 10:09 PM

bill, What else do you need to do? Tune ups, oils and filters?

WMF 04-08-2008 10:27 PM

No there is alot more than that, install new throttles, Gauges, wireing, port motor has a bad lifter or rocker, new sea water pumps, tune up, carb work, and new alternators, plus some other minor stuff, I have alot left. I hope I get, it all done, if I stop drinking after work it might happen:D

cosmic12 04-09-2008 08:41 AM

Looks great! I gotta hand it to ya, you have done ALOT, way faster than most would have. Just get the power done and use it. Get another for this year? Man you got it bad:p

Queenie 04-09-2008 10:37 AM

It really looks great. It is a lot of work to retore and revamp a boat.

We are repainting the upper half of ours beginning this afternoon.

Trannies were sent to TNT today and will have them back at the end of the month. Next month is all about putting things back together and dropping her in the water Memorial Day weekend (if it's nice).

Keep up the good work.

R Addiction 04-09-2008 10:41 AM

Chief why did you wait so long? When does your season start?

Because my husband starts boat projects in November and says this and that will only take this amount of time, and in 5 years I've learned to add 6 weeks on top of that! :D

Last year was the first time we had the boat in the water on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. It's usually the 2nd weekend of June. I felt like we boated so much more last year! It helped that we had a dry, hot summer.

Honestly, most of our friends in our area are not in the water until the 2nd or 3rd weekend of May.

Forgot it right now. Ice still floating in when the winds are coming out of the NE.

R Addiction 04-09-2008 05:00 PM

You still have Ice? I'm in shorts right now.....25 miles west of Philly:D

Here are the Drive's all done and they look perfect, the floor is going in in the morning, I get the boat back Saturday.

Nykamp 04-09-2008 08:42 PM

How deep is the cockpit? I have always wanted a 28, but have never been in one. I have loved how deep my 36's where and love my 41, being 6' 4" tall is is nice to be in a deep cockpit. The 28 is looking great, enjoy your summer.

WMF 04-09-2008 09:05 PM

It has a deep cockpit, I am not sure of the demisions, but it seems to fit me fine, I guess when I get to use it I will know more. This is a good question for John(R-addiction)

Drives look great. I need to have that done as well............any idear what that ran?

Nykamp - The cockpit is pretty deep for a 28, but I doubt it will be anywhere near as deep as your 36. I'm 5ft 10 and its the perfect depth for me..........so probobly not for you. The cabin is realy deep for its size- two steps to the cabin and I have an extra 1ft and 1/2 maybe 2ft of extra head room when I sit down in the cabin.

TexomaPowerboater 04-10-2008 06:44 PM

Very nice. The cabin window will be a nice added touch. I was thinking of putting some sort of a rubber guard on top of the anchor hatch for when its open. Its a pretty heavy door and it comes down against the fiberglass. I just don't want my honey getting up there and popping open the hatch only to see the back of the hatch door slam down against the fiberglass. Any idears?

TexomaPowerboater 04-11-2008 12:35 PM

Did you do the new back seat frame for the stereo? I kind of like having it all open underneath. Makes it easy to get to things and I don't have to ask my passengers to stand up.

My brothers 28's cabin was very roomy. The Apache 28 is a BIG 28. The cockpit has good freeboard but i know you can still get tossed from it:eek::D
