Julian |
Hey Tex,
Did you get to do the maiden voyage this weekend?? Post an update for us!! Julian |
Hey Julian,
We ran the motors on the hose this weekend, but stopped just short of putting it in the water due to the oil pressure senders not working. Apparantly it's not a good idea to soak them in parts cleaner:lolhit: |
Ohh.. that should be a pain to replace, but not too bad!.. I installed new senders for my livorsi gauges, that I have not installed yet, so I hope the senders work with the stock gauges, while I get the chance to install the new ones. We got the motors in on Friday and headers installed on Saturday. Still gotta go over and install the carbs and drives.
Hope to read about your successful on-water test soon! Good luck, Julian |
That's great!, way to keep plug'n along. Sounds like your about one day behind me. I look forward to seeing some pics.
|
If you want, give me an email so I can send you some pics, as I can't post pictures here.
|
Hey guys, can anyone tell me the length of the hatch actuator for the 28's and the best place to buy one??
|
We launched the boat sunday. It ran GREAT!!! Had an idle problem on one engine, but everything else was good. Sorry no pics, figured I'd wait till the holiday and get some good video.:drink:
jma - sorry forgot to check the length. Will do next time. When we put the hatch ram on it was around 5ft long extended all the way out, give or take. Wouldn't hurt to be a little longer. |
Post some pics when you can, it's a great thread!
|
Wow, I remember that boat back in PA-NJ when I lived up here in PA full time. I thought that thing ran around 80 or so before. Maybe im wrong.
I had seen that boat a few times out when I had my old baja before I bought my 41 apache. Thing was VERY VERY clean when I saw it up here, it was really well taken care of and just always spotless. Some younger guy and his GF-Wife were on it all the time, just about every time I took out my baja I saw this thing lurking on the river looking for some trouble to get in. I also remember it sounded REALLY healthy, Like had some pretty sick and twisted camshafts in it and was VERY snappy at an idle at Neshaminy Marina in PA which is what made me think long and hard when I welded up my own custom dry exhaust system for my baja cause I wanted my boat to sound as good or better than that boat. Best of luck to you with it, Looks like a great ride and im sure you will be happy with it like I am with my 41. These guys really did make awesome boats that would last a lifetime. Have any vids of the engines on the Dyno? J |

Hey, Tex! How was the weekend? Hope you got the idle fixed ,, what was the problem??.. I hope you're out enjoying the boat!
Take care,,, jcg |
Andy got it fixed. Boat looked good running around this weekend!
|
Thanks! Ran great all weekend. Droped it in Friday 9:00am, took it out sunday around 2:00. Was going to get some video on sunday, but got rained out.
Idle problem was a small piece of junk stuck in the needle and seat. Sprayed it out with carb cleaner and never had another problem. I love those fix's. |
Yeah,,, I wish all fixes were so simple!... So,, any pics? speed #'s? I imagine I'll be busy running my boat when its done, just like you are,,, or so I hope.. jejeje...
Take Care, jcg |

Couple of running pics courtesy of TXHAWK. Special thanks to TXHawk for making this whole project happen and getting it on the water so soon. The knowledge and friendship gained has been invaluable. I went into this knowing little to nothing and Matt pretty much turned me into a boat mechanic in 6 months. We did EVERYTHING ourselves. Only thing we didn't do was dyno and tune the engines. Had Leon Derebery let us loose on his equipment we'd of done that too:D
Final pics of the bilge to follow shortly. |
NICE PICS ANDY ,,,, see your having fun. :ernaehrung004:
