bigboat28 10-06-2009 08:15 PM

Nice video, how fast is your boat?

TexomaPowerboater 10-06-2009 09:53 PM

Thanks!:drink:

My gps doesn't work - I have to buy a satelite antena. I've hit atleast 70-71, but I'm only spinning up to 4500rpm right now. She's got more.......

The hull rides great. I had a problem with one of my trim tabs and ended up driving all summer without them.

Hi Andy. What is the top speed with the new motors. Now that you had plent of time wiht it.

TexomaPowerboater 02-05-2012 09:22 PM

Around 71. I really haven't had a lot of time in them at WOT nor have I spent any money trying to chase down higher numbers. My wife was always pregnant or we had the little one on board so we just cruised around a lot. It needs some better props and could run upper 70's in the ocean. The fuel pumps, carbs, and cooling system is all setup for 500HP. Could be easily changed to 500hp's with different cam and springs.....or so I was told by my builder.

Since I bought the boat and started to do things correctly it now runs in the mid to upper 70's without having working gauges.Added four blade props. I now have new drive gauges and will install working tab gauges. I still have a great deal of work to do on the boat. The carbs still need to be replaced since the base plates do not match. The cooling system, oiling system, steering, and wiring had to be redone. I had to pull the motors to fix all the mistakes.
Yes the drives where painted with rattle cans. I am redoing them now.

Great to hear, thanks for the update! Great speed! Makes me think I need to change props...

Good luck with the rest of your project, glad to read you're enjoying the boat!

She is still very alive and well. And another owner. She came back to the Chesapeake Bay from the Ozarks pre covid & Nick had her for a few years and she had a few dif engine combos. 415 hp to 650 hp NA and then 250 blown 509 with stellings headers that made 800-850. She is still a 95-97 mph boat.

I have asked the new owners son to continue to update pics on this thread. Interior is all new/different. Stayed in the friend group and neighborhood.
