IKe, what do you mean by "Both Apache's"? Didn't Mark close down and start Comanche? And who would the "other" be? Now you got me curious!
Whatdoin, Look in this forum under apache status started on 3/6/02. Apache powerboats, Bob Saccenti and Eric Froberg tell the whole story about apache.
active chunder
never heard of them.do they make boats or something:confused:
They are the Apache that used to to on Thunder Boat Row . Booby Saccenti is a world famous throttleman. Used to throttle WARPATH . McMannus is on the west coast.

Sgrady nice pics and beautiful boat. Whoever added the step did a great job, you would think it was factory. I have a bunch of pictures of your boat when i was thinking of buying it. What speeds are you getting out of it?. Ike:)
Thanks for the comments, we were getting 84 MPH last year with the old Motors. We are waiting for the new motors to get off the Dyno and we will know where we are at then. It looks to be quite a difference. WE are hoping for 90 MPH.:D
Ike are you still here reading this?lol
And so are you it seems. Give it a break will ya. You making an ass out of yourself. Look at what section you're in..........

Hey all you AT guys, get off the speed thing, Apache is a LEGEND, and one hell of a boat. If you wanna talk speed, i'll take you out and go by you in a 92 mph Factory race boat, 500's, yes you read right, 92 mph. So please stop with the bragging rights until you deserve them.........oh the boat is a Phantom.
And I thought all this sillyness was going to stop.:D I hope this does not start another new pissing contest. Things were just calming down.
F2-Call down to the factory and ask Pat or Steve if they have a boat with 500's they want to run against your boat if that is what you want to do, just make sure it is real offshore water. You may want to post in the AT thread so they will see it.:D Oh, and I do agree with you, the Apache is a great boat and is a Legend. IKE and RADDICTION, You guy member of NJPPC? Are you going to the AC poker Run or to Skaterfest? |

Hey Jim, Welcome aboard. |
Lee, thanks, this is only about my fourth or fifth post, My name is Nick, i throttle the F2-34 PipeDream race boat, I think you may have seen me post about a checkmate that we have for sale, Jim is my father. And A-T guys, don't get me wrong, Active builds a great boat too, also good looking, not exactly legendary, but damn good boats. As for running one, Been there, the fact is yes they are fast, 90+, not a chance, ask anyone at A-T, and tell them to be honest, there boat will NOT run over 88-89, with race legal 500's. would i rather be in an A-T than a Phantom in 6-8's , Yes, in 3-5's, NO. Are 3-5's what most APBA races are about 65% of the time, Yes, and thats why A-T dose not win races. Like i said, 92 mph, then come talk to me, otherwise, lets have some fun, i will help with any info i can, and Lets all remember, we are the Ferraris of the water, we stick togeather, we are the ones rattling lke side houses windows, and damn it we LOVE IT!!!!! So have a good season fellow performance boaters. Thanks, Nick Porter,F2-34.
that should be "lake side houses" damn slow key board, this is NOT my computer.
if it is glass smooth water, you may pull a little (if the boat really does run that fast, which i doubt), BUT anything more, you will get SMOKED! i agree with thunder dan, call them and prove it, UNLESS you not confident enough? balls in your court!
ThunderDan, I did not join up this year but I was going to go to the skater fest until my wife reminded me that we have two partys to go to that day.

Lee, How have you been? Long time no see. Are you going to be around this year? Its fast approaching. Do you still have the sunsation?
F2-34/ looking for some input on the 30' . Any seat time in one? How do they run in 2-4's. How would one run with 750 hp and a #5? So we don't infringe on the Tribe's space, if you have any input you can email back your thoughts. Thanks, Bob

Re: 81mph?
Well one of the main reasons Apache is out of business is probably something to do with the federal gov not wanting them around nemore not cause it was a bad boat.. they hold their value better than any other boat for a reason

Re: 81mph?
I have been out of the sport approx 14 years (i used to run a tripple 2.4 outboard Sutphen)and now (finances permitting )wish to get back into it.Market research dictates top speed numbers in conjunction with lower maintaince ,more driveable powerplants sells boats.I think that before a particular boat (stepped or non stepped)is bought the most important factor in not the absolute top speed, but the conditions (water wave size, ect) that it is primarely going to be used SAFELY in.I primarely boat in the Atlantic Ocean, near where the Point Pleasent Race is held .Up here the wind direction changes and minutes later your in easy six footers plus.In conditions like this (which are typical for where i intend to boat)for me at least the ride, security ect of owning a traditional V bottom (Apache ,Sutphen)far outweighs the need to run 120 MPH on a pond like surface.
Re: 81mph?
I'll bet the Atlantic is blowin' and black today!
Re: 81mph?
Its flat out Nasty today.Dont get me wrong,i have a buddy with a million dollar Outerlimits(he paid that two years ago ,its now worth in the fours)the boat is a work of art (50000.00 paint job ect ) light, fast as hell in 2-4 footers BUT in the heavy stuff ,for a prolonged amount of time, dollar for dollar the traditional v bottom(Apache,Sutphen) still can hold its own.

Re: 81mph?

Nothing you can ever do about that. I have a freind with a top gun you will struggle to get by. Probably best to say you can run by a lot of them, not all of them. NK
