how about a wooden nickle?
Give him a wooden nickle and he would say he owns the rights to the tree it came from!~

ApacheCarl 05-06-2004 06:34 PM

Plus, he would have to sue the owner of the property where the tree was cut down. Also the guy running the chainsaw. :p

MAY 6,2004

Sirs,

I have reviewed the article regarding the APACHE Powerboat dispute written by Alexandra Clifton. Ms. Clifton called me and asked for my perspective on the entire APACHE debacle and I declined comment, I have no relationship with Mr Allen, whatsoever.
Your reporter has printed information that is inflammatory, misleading and false. It is obvious that Ms Clifton did limited, if any, research on this subject matter. Mr. Allen never paid me $500,000 for anything, he bought a company called Warrior Powerboats from Eric Froberg. I do not know specifics regarding that sale.
To include me in that article, after specifically telling Ms. Clifton not to, is nothing more than irresponsible journalism. I expect a retraction immediately and have referred this matter to my attorney, Elliot Wiczer and he can be reached at 847-849-4800.

Maybe we should all give 'ol Thad a chance...

Maybe his Apache is the real Apache?

Maybe Bob and Mark don't know **** about boats?

I want to buy a boat from Thad....

Steve 1 05-06-2004 09:34 PM

Kitty show the next Picture Come on !! I know the Story.

KCHOTBOAT 05-07-2004 01:23 AM

Call the company shxxx bull and the one that builds the best boat will win. I am sure all the people mentioned build great boats and I am sure alot better than the west coast ones I have owned. Who cares about a name. If I had the cash I would be more concerned who can turn out a great product and stand behind it. The 28 Apache a friend owns is a great boat. I have never been around a more solid 28 and can only dream what the big ones look like. Being on the outside Mr. Allen needs to finish a boat and let it talk for it self not all the PR or BS I have seen. I wish the best for all.

KCHOTBOAT 05-07-2004 01:25 AM

Steve1 you are a changed person. Best of luck to you in the future.

Something he did not have to participate in???

Are you nuts?

Returning my deposit was probably the only intelligent thing Thad did since he bought Warrior from Eric & Bob

Warrior powerboats had my deposit. Mr. Allen bought Warrior power boats. Which means he also bought the liability of my deposit. He gave me back my own money. Why would I need to be appreciative to him?

I ordered the boat from Bobby, Thad, and Eric at the Miami show. The boat never got built.

Steve,

I don't know the story. I found this picture on OSO.
Kinda looks like he's intoxicated or on drugs.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I sure hope he dosen't look like that when he's sober.

What's the story?

ApacheCarl 05-07-2004 09:12 AM

So Thad bought Warrior Powers Boats for 500k ????? The article makes it seem like he paid 500k for just the name. I know Bobby and Eric just sold Thad assets and not the Apache name. So who does he claim he bought the Apache name from ????

but what if the tree was on my property and the guy with the chainsaw was my third cousin on my fathers side who deeded the property years ago to my mother before she married my father and she in turn willed the property to me but i had to pay estate taxes so i sold the property to a friend who i cannot name and he said his wife said not to cut down the tree but he did so anyways.i know,i'm going to sue mark mcmanus!it's his fault .makes about as much sense as allen owning the apache logo.

ApacheCarl 05-07-2004 03:45 PM

Ohhhhh I know, The roommate sues Mark McManus, got it.

IceAngel 05-07-2004 03:46 PM

buckknekkid 05-07-2004 03:53 PM

Well, I have to admit this thread was both amusing and enlightening for me.
I learned Thad bought Warrior Powerboats, not Apache. But is willing to throw good money after bad, not to mention cost other people good money to defend themselves. But, he is so self absorbed he doesn't care what he costs anyone else. If Moment of Truth is his attorney and presents his case like the nonsense he posted here, then I would say Thad is in for a courtroom loss and rightfully so.
Sounds like Steve 1 gave him a hell of a job building the molds for the boat. Thad should now build the boat and see how it runs.
Best of luck to Apache and Chief Powerboats.
Ed

Well, Thank GOD this thread finally got a little amusing :doggy:

Eric, I won't be back in Ga. 'till June myself. I'm currently hear in Delray putting brandy new CHIEF'S in the 41. Got the SeaRay down here also if you want to have a wine & cheese evening I'm sure I can talk Demi into it.

Sorry 'bout all the cold weather up north, maybe ya'll should get some warm clothes and helmets and go chase NautiKitty around Lake Michigan. I hear he likes to go out in some pretty cold ****.

BTW, I'm STILL a proud owner of one of them, "Lumpy ole resin buckets"

Can't Powerplay and one of the Apaches merge and create Powerhatchet boats?... then chop each other up into little pieces?.........:eureka:

ApacheCarl 05-08-2004 08:31 PM

LOL MomentOfTruth,

Out fishing are we ???? You thought this week was a PR nightmare, just wait till next week.

WOOT !!!!!! 100 posts :)

Comanche3Six 05-08-2004 08:50 PM

Yo! Monument to Thad,
I thought you may have gotten fired and were out building houses with the other ex employee.
I see Thad is still lusting after someone else's property. That's good. He needs a couple of burrs under his saddle. With a guy like him, the more the merrier. Make sure you overcharge him. Every bit helps.

Comanche3Six 05-08-2004 09:34 PM

One of the biggest myths was that Thad was going to actually produce a boat.
One thing that McManus and Saccenti have that Allen never will is respect and appreciation from the Offshore Powerboating community.
Would you order a boat from him?

Reed Jensen 05-08-2004 10:25 PM

I love how you guys argue... I personally wouldn't want to pay .02 for the Apache name... not because of the boats... but because of the checkered history of the owners.. I would want to strike out with a new name and leave some of the history behind... just my opinion.

ApacheCarl 05-08-2004 10:50 PM

That a Boy MomentOfTruth, continue to alienate all the customers of McManus and Saccenti, great business plan. Everytime you guys open your mouth, you just make it worse. For a group that hasn't even had a boat in the water yet, you talk a good game.

McManus doesn't think he owns the trademark, he does. I think Thad knows it also, thats why he tried to buy it from him.(You know what i'm talking about :) )

Did you guys enjoy the picture of Mark standing by Apache Heritage(crap, according to your post) on the FRONT PAGE of the Palm Beach Post ??? Great advertising for McManus.

Crap ?That "CRAP" won 2 world championships, lol.
I have some advice for you, you have to have a boat in the water to win World Championships.

Immaculant finish ???? Have they even popped a hull out of the mold yet ???

The REAL DEAL, lol. I love it. Not one boat built, not one race won and they are the "REAL DEAL". pfft.

Looks like we still have a long wait till we see a boat.

Comanche3Six 05-09-2004 06:32 AM

From the pics posted it looks like they sold two shirts at the Miami show. I stand corrected, they are busier than I thought.
Thad is really hung up on that Apache trademark. It will be devastating when he goes to court with Moment of Truth and loses. He will probably launch the hull and deck molds along with all those unsold shirts and simulate a Viking funeral.

Jayl13 05-09-2004 06:49 AM

not having anything to do with the company anymore i have a few questions then.
I dont think Thad would have paid a dime for the name warrior powerboats but I could be wrong.
I dont think thad would start marketing apache and selling shirts and everything when he bought warrior if in fact what you say is correct. (not saying if it is or if it is not)
This is what bothers me about this whole mess
If in fact MM still owns the apache names why is he not building boats? If bobby still owns the name why did he go wtih chief and start up that venture?
I mean Thad has newspaper articles, magazine ads, a BUILDING with apache on the doors, made molds and went to this major expense all for nothing? for a "warrior " powerboats name that no one would really care for (maybe im wrong there too?)

He went to major trouble, major expense and hassle and everything else to what just "wish" he owned the company?
Something does not add up here at all.
I really dont think he would invest 3-4 million out of his pocket on a company he does not own. NO ONE is that stupid.
so with all of this Mark can just start building boats now with Thad paying tons of loot for advertising for him?

WOW what a gimmie
Jason

Jayl13 05-09-2004 06:50 AM

Cigfirefox, without that name he is screwed dont you agree?
He should be hung up on it, that name will make or break everything they have done in Delray up to this point

ApacheCarl 05-09-2004 08:40 AM

Jay

Mark M is building boats. He always has been building boats, he never stopped. I visit the factory all the time, i've seen them. Theres a brand new Apache thats been out of the mold for a few months getting rigged even as we speak. It will be done by the end of july.

Thad didn't do his due diligence, its that simple. This lawsuit is just cover for his lack of business knowledge.

MomentOfTruth likes to talk about the HIN number when alleging Mark hasn't built a boat in a long time. He ain't very smart. I'm going to let him figure it out the hard way.

Jayl13 05-09-2004 08:49 AM

Thanks Carl,
I spoke to Bob Carlson at Martin Marine, he said "those imitation apache's- there not real"
I laughed.
Anyway im IT manager for a custom home builder firm down here in South Florida now so I dont know much of what is going on over there anymore.

What a freakin mess!!! Glad im out of this one, i think this whole thing is going to get uglier before it gets better for all involved.
Jason
