So it was a plug and not a one-off as you stated earlier....

Back to the wood part......No **** Dick Tracey wood has been antiquated for sometime now.

So the fixture as you put it is now in the trash and is in the colors of Blue and Tan as rumor suggests.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:22 PM

Your slipping ol boy......are you a designer??????

If so why is the "Designer of the Year" plaque, to quote: "Thriller is gorgeous", for that boat hanging on someone else's wall?

Steve 1 05-11-2004 02:23 PM

Sean on the floor were three pieces L-R New 41 Deck plug designed by Steve Wilson..

the T-4 a Boat under construction. New vented bottom.

Next to it a hull plug 41'But straight Vee

The Two plugs were discarded after Molding..

Steve 1 05-11-2004 02:24 PM

Huh ??? Sean what Boat are you talking about??

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:26 PM

Read the edited post

Steve 1 05-11-2004 02:26 PM

My Design awards were for the Cheetahs.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:27 PM

Now that is a boat under construction after you said it was a fixture that was destroyed.

Steve 1 05-11-2004 02:28 PM

The Thriller is Jack Clafk BUT I built IT Sean.. also corrected the plug boat and built the Molds.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:30 PM

Built it but didn't design it did you??????

Steve 1 05-11-2004 02:31 PM

Sean the T-4 was a bead and Cove job requiring just frames @24" O.C. .. I am still trying to figure what you are wanting to Know.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:32 PM

And furthermore you say you don't copy people then why sir does that T-4 bottom have an Active Thunder step in it.

Steve 1 05-11-2004 02:35 PM

Sean I built the Thriller for Jack Clark and the Molds He had a running plug before I came into it..

Here quick story we were in the same warehouse block I was doing a Vacuum-Bag Airex core line of Light tackle boats.. Jack liked my system and we got to be friends and then when the wood UUGH Plug keept sinking he had me build a set of tooling and the Thriller well actually Two sets. The Guy is first Ckass and a friend to this day..

What I am wanting to know ol boy is what the real story is? Way to many conflicting reports out there.

From them this is what I surmise.

1) That you took a plug and screwed up the design and put it back to original after you figured out from your running plug that it didn't work.

2) That the Blue and Tan Warpath T-4 that was supposed to be at the boat show was a complete disaster. Therefore it was cut up and trashed.

3) Why are you no longer there building the boats instead of typing on this computer while someone else does the work?

4) How did the thing run because you have obviously ran a boat and made corrections to the plug/mold?

That I will agree with you on that Jack Clark is a first class guy

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:52 PM

Again the stunned silence is very reassuring

HUH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOPE!!!!!!!!
========================================
I designed this bottom with a phloisipy of saftey and performance not another close in concept.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:57 PM

It's still an Active Thunder step.

ApacheCarl 05-11-2004 02:58 PM

So let me see if I got this right.

TA wanted a T4 PDQ. But when the boat wasn't ready for the MBS, S1 is MIA from the factory and a OC is working to get the boat done ASP. When its all done TA will have to change the name because the USTPO says MM is the owner. Basically this whole thing is a FRED(F#$%ing Ridiculous Economic Disaster)

sean stinson 05-11-2004 02:58 PM

I have an idea why dont we shoot pics of both and compare them

stinger312 05-11-2004 02:59 PM

Sssssssoooooooo how many of ya are going to call talkoffshore tonight ?????:p :D

Tonto 05-11-2004 03:00 PM

Wait'll I get my ACME CAD system and get styrofoam cored SOUIX CITY POWERBOATS up and running. They'll be the lightest fastest thing to hit the water yet!

Robert

I have a great idea, why dont you use Hostess Twinkies for the core material.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 03:16 PM

Steve you're right, I am ignorant and a nobody in this business. But one thing I do know I can ruffle your feathers and my phone still ain't ringing oh boat designer god of wood boats.

Sean,

The A/T step is patented with the US Government. Patent #36879. Harry Schoell designed it for me at gets paid a royality off each boat.

I would hope that the two gurus of the boat building world had enough sense not to copy it. That would certainly be a tragedy for the 'T-4'.

Pat.

IDRPSTF 05-11-2004 03:27 PM

At this point, to make a phone call would be to take our entertainment away. Also, it would limit accountability of comments made and not allow Norty to pull this thread months from now like a little court reporter.
I think I speak for the rest of us in my request to keep this public?

No watches, no guns, no chains, no knives... Rings are okay!

Pat,

You never can tell bro. This I do know the T-4 has enough tragedy on its own without the step issue.

Sean

ApacheCarl 05-11-2004 03:40 PM

I'm sure Apache LLC would treat Patent law with the same respect they show Trademark Law so I dont think they would be a problem.

sean stinson 05-11-2004 03:42 PM

Now that's gonna leave a mark....

Silence is golden 05-11-2004 04:19 PM
