47 weight with trips

Jay,
From someone that has towed a 47 with a K3500 Chevy, the boat WILL drive the truck. I used to move the "MEDICINE MAN" boat around Ft. Lauderdale with my truck and once I had Mark Adams with me when we took the boat to Matt @ T-N-T in Miami, we were both so puckered we could taste that Chevrolet leather from the seats. Mark moves alot of 47's around and he uses a F-550 to do it. I would not go "on the road" with anything less. I hope this helps.
And between taxes, insurance, storage, and operating cost, you can figure between 40 to 50,000.00 per year. And that's if you don't break anything. BUT, there is no comparison in the ride in a 47 APACHE. Call me biased or what ever, but as far as an offshore "hotrod" there is no equal

well my storage facility is dirt cheap and they can offer me inside storage (on trailer) for about 145 a month (paying 111 for baja)
Taxes, Thats a one time thing no biggie, but the insurance on trip 1100's now THATS gonna hurt!
Fuel, Well the ICW has limits that you must (yeah right) follow so most of your time is spent driving like an old man, Now with a boat like this dont think for a second you would catch me in the ICW, This is wide open ocean going wave smasher here boys!
Robert, I hear you, LOUD and clear on the expenses.
Also what I figured was an F450 on up would be more suited to tote this animal around.
So you guys still have the toasted 47 war party?
Pick that up cheap, restore it and wait for my 41 war party and own both!
NOW THATS thinking big (and probably the biggest waste of money as well) but it would be cool none the less.
Scott Grady said 47 war party was salvageable but would cost 4 arms and 8 legs to get it back to what it once was.

Well, seeing as it was well over a $1,000,000.00 to start with, I think it would get pretty close to that again to totally restore it back the way it was. I've seen the boat and damn what a shame to lose such a beautiful historic piece.

Still sitting on the dually trailer it was on before?
got any pics of it?
When I was at Miami last year, Some fellow came in and said he owned it and bought it for 3 grand.
(honestly at that show I did not know who to believe and who not to.)
I must have met and talked with a few thousand people over that week.
Thank god Ill never have to do that again!!!!!!!!!!

I have the dually but I was concerned about towing around a "resin bucket" with trips on a F350. QUOTE]
Here is the ticket!

You can get everything you need for your trailer at REDNECK TRAILER SUPPLY. The current trend is the electric over hydraulic trailer brake. I don't have any experience with these yet, but people I know that use them say they work great and you don't have to have the truck actuator like you do with a vaccum system.

Supercrewzer is nice but im sure the wife would LOVE that sitting in the driveway and for that to be my daily driver instead of the dually!
Seeing all this crazy amount of stuff you need to do not just the boat on the back Ill stick with the 41 apache!
I can tote them around no problem without having to break the bank, sell my testicles to science lab, just to get it from storage to the ICW ramp. (all of 10 minute drive) like a 47.
Now I see why that boat has been sitting unused for quite some time and is dropping in price.
