Moving them to the outside slightly would make it easier to use a bell housing cooler without hitting the tunnel...

yep or the merc setup. On an AO with the motor in the stock centerline the cooler corner will interfere with the tunnel.
I notched the tunnel a little and also moved my motors out a little.
