Default Timing ??

I have a 502 mag fuel injected. Does anyone know the wires that need to be jumpered out in the data plug to set the timing?

So does no one time their own boat or does everyone have the little plug so you don't have to use a jumper wire?

I have it written down at home. Will look tonight for you. Personally I use a scan tool that puts it in service mode.

If you ask this question over at Q & A you will get an answer quicker.

it's the a/b terminals. you'll have to bump up the idle a little or it will die.

That is correct. Usually bump the idle up to 1500 to 1800 RPM.

Dock,
how do you bump up the idle on the 502? (MPI) My brother has the 502 in a 98 24OL and it idles at 1000 to 1100, and he wants to drop it down a little.

What I was referring to in the above thread was simply advancing the throttles to a higher RPM.

To drop the RPM you would have to get your ECM's reprogrammed, assuming all the linkage is adjusted correctly and that is not what is making it so high to start with.
