1991 Baja 260 CD
Ok, not the smoothest riding in rough water because of the 21 deg deadrise, but the room in the cockpit is awesome. Bought mine in 1996 with 212 hrs and its still the only Baja i've owned. Just can't get rid of it..... |

I thought there was a picture of six of us on your boat going over to Johnny Finns but I cannot find it. I'll check at home tonight and post it. Thanks again for the ride it was a good time and a great memory! Doc |

I was told by a good friend that ran across this boat last year that it could have been bought for a lot less than this advertised price.
It will make a very nice boat for someone. I hope it finds a good home and we get to see it on the water. I would like to have a picture of my boat next to it.:D |
Well I just learned some very interesting information about B-36.
The legend himself "Craig Barry" built some engines for this boat and also assisted in dialing the boat in and actually throttled this boat in a race. If you know Craig you know that is pretty cool. |
TTT
Does anyone have any documented speed numbers on the fastest Baja 36 Outlaw to date? I know of two local ones that ran between 92 and 94 MPH per the owners and I have heard mixed reports about the actual speed of the 36 built with 900's and #6 drives. Seems it was very tail heavy and while some say it did see triple digits others say it did not. We are still in the dialing in stage but I am looking at what that magic number is that would put "Dock Holiday" on top. Testing this Saturday on LKN. |
I don't know, but I'd say if the B-36 boat
had a little more steam in it, it would run 100. Do you know what the side by side # 5 SSM 36's are running ?....I think there's a couple of those around.....SSM boats usually have pretty healthy power in them. |

I can tell you that with my experience it is going to take a LOT more than 824 HP per side to get there. With the HP the #6 drives rob I do not believe the 900 HP Merc #6 boat got there either. |

The 36 race boat looks rode hard and put away wet!! Needs some TLC but would be an awesome project for someone...Still love the stepped 42 the best though!!:drink: And still waiting for pics of it running lately. I would imagine the cameras are snappin' when that thing is on the water. Where's the pics!?

Craig actually owned Hawk Marine for many years around the time he owned Cig....Those are his motors in the 36. Considering the 36 Baja was reportidly splashed from a 36 Cigarette Mistress mold...Kind've a small world eh?
Thanks Tank |

I thought the 36 was made with molds that Baja bought from Cig?
Cig did not really do anything with it from what I have learned. Cig sold the mold to Force 10 Force 10 had the mold stored outdoors when they had a plant fire and this mold was about the only thing that survived. Baja bought the mold and made some changes which included the stupid reverse chine on the outer edge of the hull and called it the "36 Outlaw". There were 221 built from 997 to 2006 and the rest is history. |
Does anyone know where the 33 Outlaw mold came from??

Not bad at all for a 36 footer! I guess when you break it down it's not. At first glance it just seemed low. I wonder how many 25 OL's were produced? |

TeamBaja posted all that data and that is where I copied the 221 for the 36 Outlaw from. I'm not sure what page it was on but somewhere near the middle. |

This has got to be on of the most informative threads I have ENJOYED reading. The info about the twin step 42 and the 2-36 staggered Outlaws is something I never knew. Not that I knew much to start with. I'm like Doc in many ways I am a true Baja person, and just learning about the history makes me proud to own one.
