Didn't we have a long talk about this on another thread a while back...Guess they took my advise and built a f*ckin' bad azz 40 with twins!!! GREAT JOB BAJA!!

This just tied the stepped 402 as my favorite bajas ever built. SICK!

I'm guessing somewhere in the mid to high 80's.

I want to know the price tag.

Dock Holiday is here with the inside scoop.

No the boat has not been wet yet but they will be testing at Mercury X very soon. They have some VERY trick props for this boat and with it being 1500 lbs lighter then a stock 40 Outlaw plus the addition of a knotched transon and a pad bottom they are shooting for around 92 MPH. I have seen first hand a stock 40 OL loaded with generator and the works run 81 on GPS so I thing 10 more MPH is possible.

My hat is off to Dave Olson and the entire team at Baja for a job well done. The boat is without a doubt the BEST poker run boat they have built to date and the attention to detail is unreal. We cannot forget my good friend Calyton Tackett who took the final drawings and put this beautiful paint job on the fiberglass. I was very happy to learn that they used the likeness of yours truely on the side of the boat. You will have to decide which looks more like me "FIRE" or "ICE.

SPLIT DECISION was in my opinion the stand out boat at the show this year. thought the show was a little boring but Baja raised the bar again.

Baja received a $500K cash offer on this boat Friday at the show and elected to pass and keep the poker run tour on schedule. That is huge in my opinion and speaks volumes for the boat they have built for us all to enjoy this season.

I have been invited to take the controls in April and put this beauty through the paces and I look forward to reporting back to everyone on how well she does.

It was a real pleasure to again enjoy the Miami show with Blane, Jay and Barbara and especially nice to finally meet Dave Olson. He is a very nice fellow and I think we can expect great things from Baja under his leadership.

Note the laser cut name in the bar that is lighted inside and how it reflects on the ceiling.

Clayton did a great job with detail on the gauges and panels. He painted them all and then they went to Livorsi to have the numbers added and assembled.

Why do you need six Optima batteries in custom mounts that double as steps into the engine compartment?

Because the sound system is off the charts!

And agin they have the LED lights in the speakers and there are plenty of more LED's everywhere you look.

The wife gave this boat two thumbs up with a very big smile!

With seven passengers and a beautiful paint jon you need plently of cool storage for PFD's and fenders.

I am not usually impressed with Baja's work, but I do have to say that this boat was the nicest and most unqiue boat that the show. I do hope it runs well becasue I think Baja has huge potential with this model.

Thanks for your comments. I agree that this was a stand out boat at the show. Even though there was some very nice hardware there nothing really jumped out at me this year like the Baja "Split Decision" boat. Next in line for me was the new 39 Hustler which I was impressed with but the other manufactures seemed to have the same stuff in a different color.

The 40 Outlaw is a wave crushing machine but is has never been a real fast boat. It will be interesting to see how the weight reduction along with the knotched transom and pad bottom help it along.

Two things:

That wing belongs on an import fart pipe type car.

Let's hope it doesn't get dropped, like the last 40 did,
otherwise, looks good:D

Doesn't the wing help aerodynamics over the boat, and increase speed? Atleast thats the idea I got from the baja brochure :)

I don't think it really helped the last 40 PR boat.

Great pics! It really looks like Baja put a lot of effort into this boat! This should be a great year for the Poker Run circuit for them! :D

Looks like another winner for Baja! I am glad they did not sell it as it will definitely be a show stopper on the Poker Run circuit. Maybe this will earn Baja the praise it deserves!

Doc, thanks for the great info and awesome pics. I assume when we were talking about Baja doing a 40 for the 08 season, you already knew it was in the works didn't you, you sly dog:D

I was a big fan of them doing a big 40 with the "school bus" seating. Glad they decided to do it.

Anyone notice all the LED lights including those under the head rest on the engine cover? They are everywhere you look.

Also note the clear cuddy door which will make all the lights visable in the cuddy at night.

Baja also put a trick LED thru hull light in the transom to light up the water and attract fish while docked!:D

Then if you look at the swimplatform picture you will see a power cord hooked to the boat on the upper starboard side. This is a quick connect for power directly to the battery chargers.

I have been impressed with every poker run tour boat they have built but this one is without a doubt the best with no detail missed.

I'm sure you are right JT put this boat is a promotion piece and I think it really looks cool. But hey I'm a guy that still likes a radar arch!

I think it would have been cool if the Motors matched the colors for that side of the boat. I remember seeing a 30 @ the Cleveland Show that was done this way...Killer Looking Boat!!!!!
