That's awesome Artie. Dean is a really good guy I got to meet him up at Lake Erie about three years ago and he really knows how to build an engine.

Dock,

Very interesting. Nice results. Think I would like to see you try labbed 34s. Am guessing they would put you in the 98 mph range at close to the same rpm. Other option is lab the 32s to put you right on the limiter.

I got you by .06 mph, Dave;)

There's probably a couple more left in it after
he does some more fiddling with it.

Now when Dock installs a set of 32's that are labbed and cupped into 33's ! I could be right on?

When did Doc stop posting here I did not know he left, was itcm thread this is bad can xt pm me or should I call doc myself:(:(:( , is he posting at bk or sos?? any help would be great before I call him myself.

Dock Holiday 02-24-2009 10:58 AM

Sorry guys but not much time to post. Plus I am a little worn out with some of the BS and prefer to not get involved.

It would be nice if folks would look at a thread and if it does not pertain to them, or if they are not interested in the content, or if they really don’t have anything to offer or contribute they would simply click off and move on to something they are interested in.

But you have those with two screen names that hide behind a computer and simply live to stir the pot. And then there is the best one yet. The guy that makes this statement: “I wish you would quit forcing Checkmate down my throat”. Well my reply to you is simply that I did not call you, email you, write you or come into your home with a gun and make you read the thread. I can find many threads on this and other forums that do not interest me and I simply move on. A few of you folks should consider doing the same and being a little more respectful to those that have different interests.

Thank you

It is unfortunate that a few adults with junior high mentalities continue to be tolerated in the name of 'free speech' while hiding behind the internet.

Mark and Jay, I met you at the last Ski Dock Baja run on Lake Travis, and hope to see you at future events. I plan to attend the next Put-in-Bay event, hope to see Dock Holiday run!

Fred

Fred,

I will miss seeing you guys out there this year but we cannot make the trip. This economy is brutal and we are limiting our boating to the local area.

Thanks for the kind words and let me know if you head East.

Glad to see your back Dock, don't let a few a-holes keep you away. There are a lot of good people on here that love to hear your stories and experiences, me included.

That goes for me too. Dock has been nothing but good to me in the short time I've been posting here.:ernaehrung004:

Who is Dock Holiday? Does he own a boat? Have I met him? Is he a great guy?

Oh, yea! I know that guy.....................

Not too sure if he admits it or not.

F*ckem Mark. If some one can't get the idea through their head that Checkmate is full of Baja talent, then that person is not a true Baja fan.
Hell, if Bayliner started building Bajas then I'd *****, but Checkmate is a decent company that builds a decent product. How can a person not get excited about that?
It is all boating & if it wasn't talked about in the Baja forum, I would be none the wiser.
Thanks Mark for cluing some of us in.:drink:

Also, don't let the economy slow you down. You want to come to Travis, I can alswys use a good rope monkey/oar handler.

GoodTymn 02-25-2009 11:16 AM

Mark, need to order some bearings, and I have misplaced your email, you can reach me at 33outlaw(a)gmail.com, and dont let the Dark Side get to ya, the force is strong with you.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I worked 10 hours Monday, 10 hours Tuesday and 12 hours Wednesday so I took yesterday off with the 60 degree temperatures and the wife and I logged 277 miles on the Harley.

We had no plans and just rode and had a wonderful time.

Left home at 8AM had breakfast, lunch and dinner on the road and returned home around 7PM.

I can tell that I am much more relaxed not spending so much time online and the wife is much happier with that also.

I will still be checking in and as always I am happy to answer questions and will share experiences.

Boating season is getting close and I hope to see a lot of you on the water.

Take care

Rick,

Yes you are right we need some time away. Actually adding a few person days to a business trip we are taking next week and I have a Harley waiting for us to explore some new territory.

Thanks for the offer but we will not be able to make it down but I do look forward to getting that way some time in the future. I had to pass on the Platinum Poker Run even that we received and invitation for also due to business.

Thanks

Doc

Actually no. Far from it I am sorry to say unless a buyer comes along wanting a bearing distributorship real bad!

I have groomed three young people that I actually hope to sell the business to in about ten years but we will have to see if Obama puts us out of business by then or not.

Dock Holiday 03-04-2009 10:05 AM

Okay I hope to have some more updates and pictures this Saturday March 7th.

The are calling for 72 degrees on Saturday and SteelOutlawed is coming up to LKN to ride.

Anyone else going to be out on LKN Saturday?

Do you mean the clear plastic that is stuck on the floors? That is material that Kevin Brown of Lakeway Boat Repair had put down as he was making all the repairs inside the cockpit areas. Dock had posted a link to Kevins email address.

Mike,

That is great news buddy I look forward to seeing you out.

It will be just Jeff and me the wives both have other plans. We will be launching at the Peninsula Yacht Club at 11AM. Come on over there and hook up with us. If you don't get the Baja fixed and want to just drive over and ride with us you are sure welcome to.

See you tomorrow.
