ME,

I only have (4) left, and can paint the inserts any color you need for $300.00 a wheel? When there gone, there gone! The vendor was not going to make any more of them. Let me know.

XT

Big question is will that wheel work on an 88?

It should. We never used anything but a 3/4" (keyed) shaft as far as I am aware on any Baja?

On a cable system you will have six settings to adjust the wheel, but that is what is great about a (3) spoke wheel. It really doesn't matter.

Id like to, but the rule in boating is 3' bigger every couple years which means my next boat will be 17'. At that rate I'll be ready for Docks boat around the year 2025.

Wow after all the recent upgrades why are you selling? Boat looks great, new engines, drives, trailer what else could one ask for?

i think in another post he said getting out of boating to spend more time w/ family, or something along those lines. definately a top notch boat.

NASCAT 04-30-2010 03:44 PM

Ok you got me, I admit it I didn't read all 91 pages!

Smitty 05-01-2010 12:10 PM

Boat should run mid to upper 90's as it is set up now. It ran 92-93 with stock XR drives and no boxes.

It is no doubt absolutely the best rigged/ nicest 36 on the planet. And worth every penny of its asking price.

Thanks Mike it has turned out very well and Adam and the guys exceeded all expectations.

A 28 foot (or smaller) center console with twin outboards! Great ICW cruising boat.

Well I went up last week and picked the bad boy up. I would have loved to have spent all day with Adam and Doug but I had to make a one day round trip.

This was the first time ever that I have hooked the 36 up to the Excursion and considering it is a V10 gasoline I was pleasently surprised.

Had to shoot one last picture in front of Checkmate. It may be the last time it is up there. I cannot thank Dean Reynolds and Doug Smith enough for allowing me to keep the boat up in their shop for waht seems like two years now. Great folks up there at Checkmate, XT Innovations and Saccenti Marine.

Check this out:

Ride up I averaged 14.9643 miles per gallon

Ride home towing 12K lbs I averaged 8.199 miles per gallon

I could sure tell the difference in towing over the West Virginia mountains with the gas V10 w/ 3.73 gears compared to the 7.3 PSD w/ 4:10's.

Dock Holiday 06-29-2010 02:41 PM

If it's paint Clayton with Kustom Kolors is the man

For fiberglass it's Kevin with Lakeway

For interior work it's Lane, Bev and Dave at XT Innovations

For all rigging, custom fabrication, stereo equipment, LED lights, gauges, wiring, etc. etc. it's Adam and Doug at Saccenti Marine

I have seen this in many other industries where a company fails and the key employees reinvent themselves and this is one of the best examples ever.

Bucyrus is the one stop shop for all you performance boating needs and these guys all respect each other and even though they are separate companies they work together with Dean and Doug at Checkmate being kind of the center of the universe up there.

Please keep these guys in mind for all your boating needs.

Dock Holiday 06-29-2010 02:49 PM

I'm meeting a guy at Lake Norman tomorrow for a quick ride to check things out before the weekend and I'll get some good pictures of the custom engine hatch bracket Adam fabricated and polished along with the new extension boxes, drives, hydraulic engine hatch lift and the custom steering wheel the guys suprised me with.

It will be great to see Dock back in the water!!!!!!

STUCK 06-29-2010 06:28 PM

So does this mean things work out and you are keeping it? I hope so. Enjoy your ride.

Smitty 06-29-2010 09:21 PM

If he is meeting a guy at Lk Norman, it sounds to me like the next owner is taking it for a water test.

Hope the next guy takes good care of her.

sonic69 06-30-2010 07:12 AM

Glad to hear you are going to stay on the water no matter what brand boat you are in. It was a pleasure meeting you in Bucyrus and hope to hook up again. Now if only I could get Adam on the water.

Officially listed on eBay today.

Pass he word if you know anyone shopping for a 36 Outlaw.

Thanks again to Adam for doing a fantastic job on the rigging. The pictures listed below show the custom bracket he designed, fabricated in his shop, polished and installed for the power steering resevior and for the new hydraulic engine hatch lift. They both look fantastic. He also did a super clean install for the pump and hoses for the hydraulic actuator. It is FAST, SMOOTH and QUIET.

Smitty,

Actually I was meeting Ed with Boat Mendors who is a great mechanic and long time friend. We spent about two hours adjusting the throttles to where they are a mirror image of each other, set the timing on both engines, checked the throttle position sensors and finally took her out for a spin.

It was 96 degrees HOT, dead flat water conditions and three people on board with 100 gallons of fresh 93 octane. I could not believe how fast she came on plane with the new drives and boxes. No question I could have firewalled it and she would have popped up like a ski boat. We ran her about two to three miles at 3800 RPM and let the oil temps come up. Stopped and did a quick visual check under the hatch and all was great. It was time to see what she would do and we saw 86 MPH on the GPS again on dead flat water. Right water conditions and she will be back in the low 90's. Adam loaned me a set of 30 pitch 5 blades that I plan to test the next trip out and see what they do. Overlla I am extremely pleased with the way the boat has turned out and performes. The drives and steering are simply rock solid!

Mark,

Better put it in the classifieds here, or they just might delete the all time record thread in the Baja section....

brian41 08-13-2010 04:19 PM

I got 1st bid........... but I want it delivered to Bucyrus with a party..

I have been looking at cats but I think I can it in the triple digits and insurance will be a lot cheaper.

fireguy 08-13-2010 04:42 PM

Dock, you should be incredibly proud that is surely one of the finest Baja's out there.

If I hit the lottery this weekend I will be calling you on monday.

Not a problem my friend. Select a date and I'll get the Bucyrus staff doing what they do best!

No question about it. Just a few years of cat insurance especially if you are new to cats will pay for my boat! Change the blower pulley and bump the boost up to 9PSI and they are right at 950 HP. That with the right props should do the trick!

Thanks you very much, I am very proud of how it turned out. Could not have done it without the Baja guys. Lane, Doug, Dave, Greg and especially Adam. I guess I better not forget Bev and kevin.
