I was really hoping to see you change the dash insert. Thats been on my todo list every since I put the Outlaw cowl on my 240 sport.

FYI - my fuel tank sprung a leak right at the hole in the rear bulkhead. this was just after I had replaced the entire cockpit interior. It ALL had to come back out and have a new tank built.

Thanks for all the pics. This project revives my interest in my old 240 Sport.

I really wanted to but didn't want to take the time to make the plug, build a mold and then build the actual part. I had the new one half made but got aggravated and threw it in the burn pile . I may try to find one out of a newer 24 but right now I just want the damn thing put back together and it was easier to fix the old one.

I am thinking about not using the dash and put the gauges, in the faring making a face plate to mount them on and just make a throttle pod have steering come out of insert area, cause those thinks crack sqeek rattle or extend it down to the floor and glass it in with steps to wedge your feet against. art

Yeah sorry I didn't get it until late, I was sleeping. I had to work Friday night, so I just stayed on night schedule the rest of the weekend. Then I woke up to go to work last night and I had a message saying I had to work days this week....in Cincinnati!!!

I can't believe its been a year since I started on this thing and I'm not done yet . Oh well, spent the last week getting back to it. Finished putting together the stringers I started about 6 months ago and even got one of them installed. Need to order some more supplies, the B-stock 1708 I got ripped off on finally drove me up the wall with its fraying and overall crappiness so need to order a new roll before doing the other side. Got the other stringer trimmed, just need to fine tune it when I pull the old one out. It took me about 10 hours to clean up all the old glass and bedding goop in order to glass the new one in, came out pretty good tho.

Old stringer on floor, new one on tables:

New stringer installed :
