His is a few years newer than yours; maybe they changed something on the boat's setup from year to year, I don't know.

In any case, if you're turning the 23p Mirage + at 5k rpm that's right where you need to be. If you go to a 25p Mirage + you'll need to have it labbed to pick up the rpm you lose by going to a higher pitched prop. Since you like the feel of the 3-blade prop this might be a good option for you.

If it was me I'd try the 23p Rev 4 just to see how you like it. I have one that I'm going to be trying out on my 26OL as soon as I get on the water this year. Everyone I know that is running that prop on a Baja is happy with the results. As Bajaman mentioned, bblades has a prop loaner program but in Miami you should be able to find someone local with the same sort of program. They also may have some suggestions for you.
hello, yes i think that you are completely right about the rev 4 23, what i found in my research is THAT THE OLDER BAJAS HAS A TOO DEEP PROP SHAFT( 8 INCHES) AND THE BRAVO ONE IS A SEMI SURFACE PROP THAT WORK WELL ON MORE HIGHER PROP SHAFT CONFIGUARTIONS (i n my boat i feel too much drag), NEW MODELS COME IN 6 INCHES, IS BECAUSE THE BRAVO ONE WORK WELL ,BUT IN MY CASE THAT I INSTALL THE NEW ENGINE IN THE ORIGINAL SETUP IS GONNA WORK WELL WHIT A MIRAGE THAT GIVE A EXTRA BOW LIFT LIKE THE REV 4 BUT I CANT FIND ONE TO TRY. ANOTHER OPTION IS A HYDROMOTIVE INTIVIDATOR Q4 "X" WICH IS A NEW MODEL JUST DEVELOP FOR THIS CAN OF CONSERVATIVE X DIMENSIONS. CAN I ASKYOU HOW MANY INCHES DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR BAJA FROM THE KELL TO THE PROP SHAFT???
DO YOU KNOW WHO IS SELLIN A REV 4 23 P??? THANKS ALOT
THE BEST OPTION: INSTAL A IMCO SHORTIE LOWER....(2" SHORTER) WHICH I CANT AFFORD RIGHT NOW.....

The distance from keel (actually a pad on our boat) to propshaft is 6 1/4 inches...I measured it so I'd know. We've only put 30 hours on it so far so I haven't tried any props other than the 23p Mirage + but I have several to try this spring including an older model Q IV and a Rev 4. Another prop you might consider is a Turbo Vector. That's a fast prop on the 272; might also work on your boat.

For my boat, 1994 Baja 272 powered by a 330hp 454. It has a factory Mirage 21P, any advice on changing props for the current motor setup? Or is this about the best it will be?

Thanks!

21 Mirage Plus might be a bit better,,,, but thats about the best prop for that setup.

Alot are saying 4 blades,,,, but I think the drive is to deep on that boat to run a 4 blade

The plus has more cup. I have double the cupping on mine for more bow lift. You can trim higher without the prop blowing out. You can have your current prob lab finnished and have more cup added.
