I see the liner boats as failure of Baja as we knew it. Brunswich basically dumped it to be relieved of the obligation. They'll just keep repairing them til they're out of warranty. IMO you either get a good one or a junk one.

I wish we could have kept our 272. Nothing wrong with a single at all. For some lakes and waterways it is preferable over a larger twin. The wife and I enjoy cruising the ICW along the South Carolina and Georgia coast and the 272 was perfect for that.

Met a guy at the lake this weekend with a 35. It was replaced by Baja last fall after the original 08 had cracks from the gunwale down to the footrests. It was fixed four times before they replaced the boat. That doesn't make a guy that has the same model a good felling.

Damn, just bought my 2007 26 OL two months ago (new from a Baja dealer) and this is the first that I'm hearing about the issue with liner boats. I should have done more homework - at least the boat is under warranty. I boat on the San Francisco Bay and it can get pretty rough out there, I'll keep a close eye out for cracks - does anyone have pictures they can share?

Yes, I am interested as well, because I too have noticed a crack that was bothersome on my 2003 20 Outlaw. It is located in the engine department along the sides where the engine/transom mount/liner??? meets the side of the hull. I bought it to a local guy that I know and had him look at it. He said it was probably stress related and most likely is just the boat flexing. Is this something I should be worried about????? I hope not, as I am so happy with this boat.
Thanks in advance!!! Rob

Also, a friend of mine is looking at a 26', what are the most problematic areas he should be looking for? I don't want him to waste the money on a survey right away, if he would be able to spot something right off the bat.
Thanks again...Rob

I would buy a 25 Outlaw in a heartbeat. GREAT BOATS!

Call Hawkeye they are getting the issues resolved. I would have no dealer loyalty to a dealer that blows off they're customer..
