I have a '97 29 Outlaw with a single HP500 carb motor that will be up for sale in the very near future. The boat has 312 original hours with 11 hours on a complete top to bottom rebuild of the motor. New cockpit upholstery and big stereo installed April '08. Tandem axle Haul Rite trailer with new tires, wheels, bearings and seals this year. I will post some pics tonight. The boat is at the fiberglass shop right now having some minor nicks and scratches touched up and then will be on the market. Let me know if your interested, I am located in Kansas City, MO.

NO WAY to get a LEGAL REAL CE Certification on any boat with
500 EFI, 525 EFI, 575 SCI

There are always some ways to get the boat into the country but maybe you never get a registration in Sweden.

I would buy a boat with a 496 and swap engine AFTER registration

Any boats imported after 2006 to Europe needs a CE certified engine .

Only HP engines with CE are 600 SCI and 662 SCI from Mercury Racing and Ilmors 650 and 725 Gen iV

If i could find a nice one with a 496 in it then I´m good but i onley found 29´s with smaller ones.

The CE Certification is just for insurance rignt? If so that is not so important. Its pritty liberal to own a boat i sweden. Expensive due to de gas price but liberal.

Btw, how do you know all this? I´m pritty impressed

525 and 575 and ALL other engines were allowed to bring into the EU before 2006

They changed the law - the new emmission law says that all boats that now get first time into the EU need a CE certified engine package - In several countries this will be checked during or after custom clearing and you will not receive a licence for a non CE certified Boat - engine package

Its not just a insurance question - there already have been several boats confiscated because of that. In Finnland they confiscated a brand new Fountain during the Helsinki boat show - the boat had no CE papers
In Germany a new boat was confiscated until the owner purchased a ne CE certifioed engine.

Of course there are always some ways to pass the controls , like there are always ways for some people to smuggle narcotics or weaposns, but it is still illeagal

Also without REAL CE papers resale value will be significent lower due to fact that controls are growing each year.
