Mounting the pumps like that sure wouldv'e came in handy when I was replacing solenoids last week!
And Jerry, I'm having Cuz strip and buff ours this week, so hopefully it'll be looking good here soon
I'm going down this morning to start taking all the snaps off to make it a little easier.

We have a Baja 290 as well, 1994. Needs the galley carpet replaced. Anyone know the best place/kind to get? It currently has the light blue carpet with foam backing, glued down . Would it be better to install vinyl? Can't seem to find the light blue in marine at all.. At least in a premium carpet. The current carpet wore great, just the stains keep coming up. I can have it looking perfectly clean and then as soon as you step on it, after it gets moisture down there.. the brown keeps coming up. HELP.

Bubba - I would like to get a copy of the owners manual as well, ours is a 1994 and only have the ones for the engines. I would like the one for the boat itself. I could pay you for it as well. I would think the 1993 would be similar. Your pictures sure look the same, just diff. color. Let me know! Thanks! Janine

Janine, I replaced the carpet in ours last summer with vinyl. It took a couple days but I was pretty meticulous when doing it. I used the sq. Ft. Peel and stick kind from Menards but I also glued it down as well. It turned out really nice and didn't cost a fortune.

Janine, i had a 290 for 3 years, and changed my carpet. I bought a nice short plust grey house carpet and glued it down with house carpet glue. No need for marine stuff in cabin. Easy and has lasted 8 years so far, saw my boat last summer. Get whatever you like and put it in.

Thanks everyone for your help. Not sure which direction we will go .. probably vinyl tiles if the surface is good enough after we pull out the carpet. Kinda dread that. If you know of anyone that has a manual, I would be more than happy to pay for a copy.
I will let you know how the floor covering turns out. Maybe take some before and after pictures.

Ours had the same light blue. Really liked it as it was plush, comfy and thick. But dated and stained some from PO.
We replaced ours with the thickest house carpet since we weren't going to have a pad. Can not tell it has no pad. The old took a lot of time to remove since it was glued down. A lot of scraping to get the old glue up. The plywood sheets weren't flush at the joint, so there was a small step. We mixed up some resin/filler and tapered the joint out, then layer a couple layers of glass down to smoothen out the joint.
Not knowing how the house carpeting would hold up, decided not to glue it down in case we wanted to replace it. It was recommended to us by the carpet warehouse into using the double sided carpet tape, (used the highest quality carpet tape Menards carried) and put tape all along the perimeter. The carpet was cut tight to fit w/o any gaps. 2 yrs of every weekend use, it is still as the day we put it down. Was concerned about the tapes holding power, but not anymore.
The only concern about using a vinyl or wood flooring is how the boats sit in the water, with the pretty good slop back. Stuff sliding around, plus slick when feet are wet.
Also should mention, I made 3/4" trim tab cyl spacers to allow the tabs to go down further. Made a huge difference in ability to get on plain. Even with a boat load of people, I have zero problems, and the boat does not point to the sky anymore. One of the best free modifications I did for performance. Before the spacers, just 4 adults on board was enough to make it a struggle to get in plain. The tabs came way up when fully retracted. Even with the spacers now they still raise up more than enough and don't drag. Kicking around going to 1" spacers.
The manuals really don't cover much, as far as the specific boat itself. There are the factory motor and drive install/maintenance Mercruiser manuals, and the factory Baja manual that pretty much just covers basic operation and battery switch use. More of a generic type of manual. Then all the individual manuals for the fridge, toilet, micro, and etc....

Unbolt the manifold and pull down to access the fittings. Unscrew and pull them back thru under motor thru exhaust pipe.
