I would take a carb or naturally aspirated motor any time over the electronics. You will get home every time, and it's easier to upgrade for more horses, it's not hard to get 6-700 Hp out of a carbed motor. JMO

Not hard to get 700hp out of a efi either it's called Whipple:lolhit:

I'd go Hammer hands down...Here's a pic of one with a 454Mag this boat would hang with 33OL's at LOTO of course I'm positive it was the driver..:evilb: 70mph on GPS all day long

The hammer i am looking at has the 350 in it and NOT the 454.

You still pick the hammer?

Can you compare the ride for me? Someone told me the outlaw would ride better that It was more of the deep V hull type where as the hammer was not. That the hammer would ride more like a 20' ski boat.

??

The ride of the Hammer is better than the 20 Outlaw (in my opinion). The Hammer is a bit heavier and there is only a degree of deadrise different between the two boats (21 vs 20 degrees).

I owned a 20 Outlaw and while it was a great boat....if I had to do it again I would buy a Hammer for a similar sized boat.

You can HAMMER a Hammer!

I was up in Bucyrus and saw the first 20 Outlaw coming off the production line in May 2002 and I was actually a little disapponted. It looked light duty compared to the Hammer which as mentioned could handle a Big Block.

However I gained respect for the 20 OL as many people I knew bought them and really enjoyed them. There is a thread here in this section just from a week ago with a fantastic buy on a 20 OL that looks brand new for $15K.

You will love both boats but the Hammer is king.

P.S.

I gained a whole new respect for the 20OL when one hit the causeway on Lake Norman at I-77 running 55 MPH and flew over the guard rail, flew over South bound traffic before landing upside down in the medium of I-77 just north of exit #30.

A good friend of mine with the EMS responded and sent me pictures. That was the talk of the lake for a long time.

From the blood all around the back side of stereo in fourth pic, it couldn't have ended good for someone.

Three people on board. They all worked for a Nascar team. One was air lifted out and the other two had very serious injuries. Due to a lot of very BAD press they were all fired.

You have to admit that the boat held up pretty good to hit a ROCK causeway go up at at 60 degree angle, fly over the guard rail, clip one car and land 75 feet away from the water upside down. Yeah the passengers were trashed but the boat held together very well.

I had a H2X with 502, no problems or complaints about it at all.
