I'm looking forward to seeing how Dawg's run...should be interesting for sure.
|
Mines just got the stock
Weiand 256 blowers that came on the 575SCi's. I think they're only 4-5 psi 502 c/i Dart Iron eagle heads Gellner spec'ed HR camshaft. Hp estimate...650-675 ?? Pic's.....they look exactly like any stock 575SCi Oh....and I have one of Jason's stickers too ;) |
Jason it STILL baffels me that you got all that under the hatch.
Hell I dropped the power ster res cap once in my 29 and had to hold the wife UPSIDE down to grab it. Very nice.! |

Hell I dropped the power ster res cap once in my 29 and had to hold the wife UPSIDE down to grab it. Very nice.! I blew up a water hose on Saturday at the Shootout. I couldn't pull the hose out so now there is a broken hose & a new hose in there. Only took 3 hours to change it. Normally, I pull the upper back seat out & take off the manifold. That gets the Whipple out of the way & then stuff more accessible that way. It is not necessary, but helps in making more room. Honestly, the Dana exhaust is the biggest room hog in there. |

Dawg's boat ought to run like a rapped ape. Ben thinks it should make 900hp pretty easy with an aggressive tune & a little more boost.

Ben is putting together a 3.3L, .25" stroked 454 for Scott. It will make big power the way Ben is thinking. |

That will be a sweet setup for sure. |
I hope so Dock......:ernaehrung004: I have had nothing but bad luck with it since I met you at the 1st Thunder At The Lake at the LOTO and tore it up......... Picked the wrong engine builder and have been jacked up for 2 years...:hitfan: It's in the right hands now and am finally looking forward to some turnkey boating for a change.......:drink:

The 25 is a pretty sound hull very simliar to the 272. I know of two 272's capable of running in the 90's and one that has broke triple digits.
That will be a sweet setup for sure. |

Sorry I did not know who they were referring to but now I do. I hate you have had a bad go of it but maybe there are some good days ahead real soon now. Sounds like you are building some SERIOUS HP. Good luck and keep us posted. I'll look forward to seeing Jason sticker on your boat! Take care Doc |

I will say that Jason's engine guy really seems to know his stuff. If Jason cannot break them they have to be good!:lolhit:
I met Ben at Lake travis a few years back with Jason and he was asking questions about my motors that were so damn far above my head that I know I looked pretty stupid. But if I could have answered his questions I would be competing with him building motors. Cannot wait to see the FASTEST 25 OL on the water! |

Here is my setup--
540 CI Whipple 2.3 side mounts about 5 psi boost for now..... 800 hp at 5500 rpm 875 ft lbs at 3800 rpm Machine work done by my friend Tim Cams from Bob Madera/ aka RM Builder Fuel mapping done by Mark at Precision Marine , Kenner LA Drives built by Mr. Gadgets I assembled motors and rigged entire boat. |
Thanks Doc, I could use all the luck I can get........:drink:
Will, not for sure if the boat will run 90......... I wish it would but am more concerned with more than 400 hours of turnkey boating........:ernaehrung004: It was supposedly 700hp last go around and best I saw 80gps......:traurig001: Don't think his Dyno was accurate......:lolhit: Just keeping my fingers crossed! I'm sure Ben will hook me up........:Score-101010:

It doesn't have to stay that way all the time, but it might be fun for the Shootout. |
Thanks Dock !!!
I have to do my own work, otherwise I would have a 18 footer with a V-6 :eek::eek::grinser010: |

Hello there,
Yes, but trashed those motors and sold some of the parts and ended up building a new motor. I corrected it after typing it. They are 14-71's

Last summer i was able to open it up once in the ocean and with 5 pounds of boost and 5100 RPM i was at mid 90's, running labbed 30's. I have changed the boost to 7.5 pounds and going to try with the same prop and see what kind of RPM i'm getting. I might have to do a lab 28's I will know if a month or so when the weather gets better.
