rev limiter stock setting?
|
Did you ever have an update to this warrantykiller?
I just got my 232 with the stock 7.4/300 carb motor. It has a 21p mirage+ that looks like its labbed. I am turning 4800rpms and pushing about 54mph, though i have not done any runs by myself with low fuel. That's always been with 2 other people in the boat. My problem is I get bad porpoising whenever I trim up more than just a tad. I guess I need to see where on my meter is parallel so I can determine if I still have the drive tucked or not when it starts to porpoise. I'm thinking about getting a B1 4 blade to try because from what I understand porpoising is from having too much bow lift without the power to keep it up there. So the B1 should have less bow lift and keep me from getting up so high and falling off. Either that or maybe I need MORE bow lift so it can keep it up? In which case I could get some cup added to this mirage+? |
A double cup (baja cup) would help.

jeffsway you are saying the 2nd notion that maybe i need more lift to keep the bow up will stop it from porpoising so much?

Hey Jeff, I too am getting some porpoising when I trim it up....what is a double cup so I can have my prop guy do it to mine.....never heard of it??
|
More cup on the tips will give you more bow lift. Any good prop shop should know that. Even with all the work I have done to mine I still get the Baja bounce between about 53-59 MPH, as the speed increases the factory hooks "shingles" have less effect.

Thats kind of what I figured. We used the same cup on our ET props for drag racing.......thanks Jeff.
