with the -3 you will have to change your upper outdrive,,,,with the -2 you can still use the merc upper,,,just something to think about

Thank you all for your suggestions. I just ordered the SC Extreme upper and lower package with the -2 lower. This should place the X at 5.25". I will report back on any changes good or bad.

If you go with the -3 you have to buy the Imco SC upper as well it won't work on a bravo drive with a 15.25" prop. You'd have to drop to a 14" prop which leaves you very little options.

man I can't believe the factory set the drive height so low now a days, your x is about15'' yor prop shaft height is the 7''. Ithink the 2'' shortie should work fine I put one on a 24ol picked up 8mph with that and a custom carb change had more but was on the red line at 6000rpm. the 26 is a nice boat good luck.

there was a 05 25ol that had a 525 and he installed a 3'' imco box 3'' is a built in raise box is 12'' he went from 74 to 81 with a b1 28, he then installed a merc 600 plus a 2'' shortie and ended up putting a 1'' spacer which gave him a height of 3 1/2'' last I heard he was at 87 to 89. if you go to 600hp you should change your gears to 1.50. the 1.65 lets you use a 26 other wise you would of got a m23
or b122 with a 1.50 gear. that you can get with the case, I noticed you lost some angle with the shorter exhaust hose since you did not get the extentions watch out if you change your cam you could suck water back up the hose at idle. looks great my project is on hold my engine builder sleeping on my 572 blower motor for my saber28 but Iwill have it in 2 weeks so we will be posting over saber about the install with the konrad ace drive. good luck my baja flew straighter across rough water with the shortie.

There are guys who have put the -3" IMCO lower on a Bravo upper. They cut the cavitation plate off. Not pretty, but it works.
I remember they bolted a cav. plate back on, but spaced it up with what looked to be 1/4" tall spacers.

Yea, the guy you are talking about it from Australia, his boat is smokin. I think you meant the other way on the gears. I believe 1.36 would be used when you run out of prop pitch.
