The survey is/was being conducted by the owner?!

If the owner was not against a survey, in my opinion it should be your surveyor and the owner paying the bill. You can never tell who is in bed with who.

Good luck with the purchase.
The owner conducted a pre survey to ensure everything was working mechanically, so I dint waste my time in driving down to Maryland.

My personal surveryor will be conducting the official survey and I will be footing the bill.

I didnt realize this. Thanks.

I was gonna head in the direction of a vinyl wrap...Any reason not too?

I think the entire vinyl wrap thing is cheap looking. If you are going to keep it then pay to have a custom paint job put on it. I believe it will look better, longer then vinyl. jmo.

It doesn't look bad as it sits now either. Consider just leaving it alone too.:drink:

That is good. I was thinking you were taking his word on the survey.

Best of luck with everything. :drink:

How did it go? Was the boat nice? Did you get it?

It didnt go well. I drove down to Maryland to find out that it wasnt running (fuel pump issues). I wouldnt say it was a waste of time but the boat needs work.

The gel coat is cracking in many places which had me concerned from a structural standpoint. The interior was in good shape minus the faulty speedo guage.

I couldnt get diagnostics off the motors as they werent being read by my laptop. The boat needs a good detail and wax. I couldnt inspect the outdrives because the boat was on a lift. It could be a good deal for someone who is willing to put in some work.

I bet the owner would take 25k. It hasnt seen much use which is probably its biggest downfall.

In the end, I picked up a Formula Fastech 292 in NJ. Here is the link:

I was under the impression that you did not care for the 6.2 motors.

I wasnt crazy about the 6.2's but when I saw the 496's...There is no access for working. Coupled with the fact that the 496's burn almost twice as much fuel turned me onto the 6.2's.

Although its not a fast accelerating boat out of the hole...the formulas top end speed (stock) is impressive. We were running low to mid 70's easily in 3 ft chop.
