Yours could be the first 33 to do it!
If you think about it almost everyones 33 foot model is their best performing boat in many manufacturers: 10 Meter Fountains, 32 Hustler, 33 AVS, and many others, but when you go longer much more HP is needed, and when you go under 30' small block power is better balanced.

While designing the 35 hull I had to prove the notch would benefit the hull design so I had Kevin Brown at Lakeway Boat Repair notch a 30ol test boat that had small block 6.2 MPI's. We got on average 2.5 mph more depending on props and the X was never even raised. Kevin later notched another 30ol with HO's for Hawkeye Boats that I heard ran well, but I would get worried on the CG with BB in a 30ol hull. Kevin also modified Bobby Todd's 33ol making the rounded keel a flat delta pad, but never added the notch.

especially the middle cushion. All Boats should have that option, I end up sleeping on the floor between the benches

Pics of the "Team Baja" poker run style cabin in my boat....JayTee's prob is similar.
The cushions even have their own carrying case so you can remove them and gain another .000002 mph!
Personally I really like the cabin. The V-Birth is larger like JT said. Lots of storage. The Simpson netting seats are actually comfortable. I believe there are additional bulkheads also?

Thanks for the thread guys.. I've been looking at these two models myself trying to figure out which way to go. And to add to the comment about the simpson net seats, I sat in a Baja at the miami show years ago that had those seats in it and was surprised at how comfortable they were.

I just got my 03 33 ol in september and I love it! It has 496 ho's. I do most of my boating in the ocean and it handles it with ease! It hops up on plane no problem even with a full boat and as far as speed I've had it to 74.6 gps. For 100k you could get something great. I got mine for a little over half book value. Good luck!!!!

I can personally vouch for the other 33OL w/ 496HO's at PBB:

The boat runs solid and Scott, the owner, has always taken great care of it. Clean boat that gets up and goes with unique colors that aren't overdone. Someone will be very happy with this ride.

Been reading this site for quite awhile as I'm doing some research for my next boat. I'm torn between the 30OL and the 33. The extra room in the 33 is very nice but I'm wondering if the 33 with HO's is really slow to get on plane and kinda sluggish? Also how many mph's do you lose between the 30 and the 33 both with HO's. Thanks for the help!
