I am not looking to "ruin you" on OSO, your doing a good job all by yourself For a guy who was "Done with this thread" you sure have a lot to say. |

I still loved my BAJA but its fact that Baja did not seal holes and they rotted, all the holes were sealed in my Cig... which resulted in a dry hull years later with a passing survey even... Point the finger back at me if you wish, but it is obvious that many on this forum share the same opinion, you are on a quest to prove you have the best rough water boat and the roughest water right in your back yard. In 28 years you may finally own a boat built in this millienum, and then that will be the best of the best On a side note I boat with all types, I have friends with pontoons, 24 ft sport boats, **** cruisers, nice cruisers, new big power boats, all types. I don't judge people by what they have, and no one hear is judging you based on what you drive. But when you throw the stones that you do, we throw them back at your glass boat, because it is so easy. I tried watching your video again, but I can't. The dull bow makes me want to get up there with a buffer. |

I am actually pretty decent guy to hang out with, boat with and have lots of mecahnical knowledge of boats and such with lots to offer, so if I came off wrong I'm sorry, but like I said we all have our opinions... you have many times told me my old boat is outdated and junk, so... your better then me??? you have more money then me??? so fukkin what... I would rather be known as a loser with opinion then a stuck up money bag.... I don't care to own a newer boat right now and probably won't for a long time as I can put whatever power I want in this and build it myself, which is where I get my satisfaction... building things.. thats what I do... Again, in the beginning I was comparing my Cig to my Baja at the time, nothing more..... |
In the end... I'm not what you guys think, if you met me in person you would see otherwise... thats all I'm sayin...

You are the one that is coming across as looking down at others and their boats. "Come race me in the rough lake erie water" "I could have newer if I wanted a loan" "Fountain is out of business" "The 42 is a better hull than your 38" "I have rode in newer and none ride as good as mine" Blah blah blah I am sure you are a better guy in person, I can see from your thread when you bought the boat you have some close friends that you boat with, so I guess you don't the profile I laid out....those guys have no friends. Bottom line, we can all respect your boat for what it is, but you don't need to talk trash about others to try to make your boat look better in our eyes. We know what it is, and we know what it is capable of. We can all see how impressed YOU are with your new ride, try to be a little more humble, no need to try to compare it to others that you do not own. That baja that you once loved was faster with the same power :) You better hold on to the hull, someone might re-rig it and pass you out there :daz: |

The Cig isnt dialed in yet either.. whatever... see it how you want I don't care, maybe someday I will be as cool as you are |

( without mentioning Apache or Card Shark or Pantera and bankruptcy) All this over two completely different boats in my opinion. 2 different builds, 2 different price points, 2 different types of buyer. I'm sure if Cigarette wanted to build a production boat and to the same type of standards as a Baja, then it would not be as coveted. And vice versa, if Baja wanted to build a boat like Cigarette did, then it wouldn't be the affordable performance boat option for many of us. They are what they are..............DIFFERENT and for a reason!!!! |

Why is it that people like to trash talk Baja. I've had a 29 and currently have a 36 and never had any issues. Just had a survey on the 36 for the insurance co and found no stress cracks and no moister on meter anywere, boat was put togethr nice. All tests done in past on the 36 say it's a great boat and crushes waves, won 2001 performance boat mag award. Back in 99 they had the same power as a stock Cig, same gauges, same controls, better Mcleod seats, vacuflush toilet, same hand laid fiberglass process with bolsa core hull and sides, hull and deck were plexus bonded together and threw screwed, plus some other items Cig didn't offer. I know Cig has always had the rep of the best hull and a clean rigging in engine compartment but after that I don't see the diff. I was looking for a 38 top gun last year and found that the 36 OL had more cockpit room, a better cabin layout and some other items the Cig didn't, all which come in handy with Kids on board. I'll always like the top gun and thats what attracted me to performance boats but don't get the trash talk by other boat owners on the forum.:angry-smiley-038:
Keep it going its been good. |

TS never ride as good as straight bottom boats..again, I am also referring to our Lake Erie, not inland lakes or oceans....
This video is my Mistress in 4-6 footers we see regularly on the great lakes, newer cigs run it just as good without beating you up... I never said the Baja cant run it, I just said you will feel it a ton more... http://youtu.be/RkIdBlNuxMM but no offense bro, if you think you're running in 4 to 6s in that video you need to rethink how you judge them waves. my guess would be 2 to 3s at the most. by no means is that baja water but i grew up on Lake Michigan and been is some big fricken waves but no way those are 4 to 6s. these pics are us in 3 to 4s running in the last SOTW in grand haven. |
hahahhahaha

Alright, so how big were they yesterday afternoon at the islands/west end? All I know was BIG!

You will never see the big picture, I'll try one more time 1. You bought a new to you boat 2. Your new boat impressed you (good thing) 3. Your love for your boat grew (also a good thing) 4. You started to love the boat so much you wanted to share your love 5. The response was just ok in your eyes, you thought "I must work harder to tell the world how great this boat is" 6. You took it up a notch and made a video 7. You sat awake in bed and thought "These guys just have no idea how great my boat is, must work harder" 8. You took it up a notch and started thread hopping, sharing your vid more, sharing YOUR experience, in places that no one cared 9. The waves on lake Erie started getting BIGGER 10. You started breaking the rules by COMPARING your boat to others on a chat forum??? 11. You did more research (in the cig forum)and found that your boat is the greatest ever made 12. You started inviting others to race you in the now hurricane size waves in western lake erie 13. Your internet arrogance grew out of control 14. People started to bite back (as expected) 15. You ran out of responses and starting using emotioncons for answers and comebacks 16. You ran back to the cig forum and posted the above quote in an attempt more cig owners to come over and defend you. |

For a boat that "sucks" they sure are fast, especially the one that set the V Hull speed record, seem to remember Cigarette trying (and failing) to break the record a few years back, I guess it wasn't entirely Cigarettes fault since they had to have someone else build the hull.
I am a DIE HARD Outerlimits guy (they suck too?) But, I respect what Reggie/Fountain have accomplished. YOUR boat may have been criticized in this thread, but, I don't recall anyone saying "Cigarettes" suck. |

I actually saw it at KI a few years back when Jim still owned wicked won. i was with my buddy Parnel in the other Saber. Awesome boat!! 5 to 7ft waves are huge in a boat and pretty hard to really get moving in them unless you have huge power with a huge drive train that is in the Great Lakes.
We are coming up on 2 years without LJ... so sad we lost him... he was a great friend. Clifford and my buddys old 41 Apache "The Chief" are animals on the great lakes.... best 2 boats I was ever in.... |

Enough, FF. When you actually learn what 6 footers are, maybe someone will listen to your "rough water" ravings..... But I doubt it.
I'm sure a brick with an Evinrude attached handles waves too, but not my cup o' tea either. Tool. Must be quiet on the Cig forum...... Or did they have enough of your b.s too? :bsflag::bsflag: |

I have a 25OL, I live in Dallas so are water is nothing like a ocean, or any other big water, we have the normal boat traffic wakes, and the high winds waves, nothing my boat cant handle. There hasn't been a day on the water I wasn't smiling and appreciating my investment with family and friends!
I still get the boat all ready the night before, and can't waite till morning to get on the water, takes me 2 min from driveway to dock! I am as proud of my boat as the guy is who has the most expensive, fastest, best paint etc is of his. I don't believe one boat is better than another, I think it's he pride of the owner who makes his boat what it is/or isn't!! Better to be on a raft, than not on the water at all! |
