I only puttin BS on this thread since you guys wanna keep it alive, I'm ok with that... its kinda funny, I must be irritating you, I like that... :) I have done nothing to keep this going but respond to you guys for pure entertainment purposes... I heard old SeaRays are good in the rough too.... Maybe I'll buy a 1984 38' for $3000 so I can keep up to you on rough days. |

There you go again twisting words, we said that YOU were an outdated POS.
You will never see the big picture, I'll try one more time 1. You bought a new to you boat 2. Your new boat impressed you (good thing) 3. Your love for your boat grew (also a good thing) 4. You started to love the boat so much you wanted to share your love 5. The response was just ok in your eyes, you thought "I must work harder to tell the world how great this boat is" 6. You took it up a notch and made a video 7. You sat awake in bed and thought "These guys just have no idea how great my boat is, must work harder" 8. You took it up a notch and started thread hopping, sharing your vid more, sharing YOUR experience, in places that no one cared 9. The waves on lake Erie started getting BIGGER 10. You started breaking the rules by COMPARING your boat to others on a chat forum??? 11. You did more research (in the cig forum)and found that your boat is the greatest ever made 12. You started inviting others to race you in the now hurricane size waves in western lake erie 13. Your internet arrogance grew out of control 14. People started to bite back (as expected) 15. You ran out of responses and starting using emotioncons for answers and comebacks 16. You ran back to the cig forum and posted the above quote in an attempt more cig owners to come over and defend you. |
Anybody know of any 35 Cigs for sale??? Preferably 25+ years old.
|
I dont want to interupt here, but I have a video too!
This is my 13' Vyper on Lake Erie. Again, the boat is 13' and a wave crusher. The waves were 16' on this day. I had a tape measure and got an accurate measurement that day. Anyone that can beat me to Kelleys on any given day can buy me a beer! Who's next? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwIMKFO-mPI |
Thats hilarious, AWESOME choice for the soundtrack, its been ages since I heard anything off that album!
|
hahhahaa! love the music. I'm a huge Metallica fan.
Those definitely are 6-8's. If you werer on a cig you could handle anything ha |
Don't you guys have some boating to do.......

I wish Full Force's Cig was for sale. That's the EXACT one i want. I will not settle for less!!
Further research done by the coast guard discoverd that the 1985 Cig mistress hull does actually CRUSH the wave while most simply cut them. On a poll taken from 1000 waves hit by a Cig hull it was found that 98% of the waves ceased to show their heads above the water line being hit, and for the remaining 2% of the waves it was clear that they were no longer themselves after the impact, many of the waves needed counseling, medication and long term rehabilitation..., they were in fact "CRUSHED" |

Sadly Full Farce's boat may be no longer. Seems the coast gaurd will be commissioning this boat for hurricane testing this fall. Seems they are so impressed with the 1985 Cig that it will replace their cutters across the board. The Coast gaurd will be changing the boat fleet name from "Cutter" to "Crusher" with the change.

Okay, for those of you who don't have the pleasure of knowing Timmy (aka FF) personally, here is live, completely accurate footage of him declaring his love of his new mistress right after he bought it (sorry, buddy, but I'm trying to move your thread from third to first on the "most popular" list!!!).

not trying to stir the pot but if i had to choose between a 1985 35 mistress that's had a lot of work done to it or a old or new 38'-30' baja and was in 3 to 4s, I'd rather be in the CIG. i think bajas are a lot of bang for their buck but not a rough water boat. Baja uses a 1/4 of the resin that's in that 35 on most of their boats.

A 1956 truck uses heavier metal that today's trucks, how is that 1956 on the highway? Show me one example of a modern day 35 ft plus hull failing under recreational use? Not by flipping, sinking or hitting bottom, just a guy that broke his boat in half on a great lake. You can take a peterbuilt to the mall cause it is heavier, doesn't mean it's better and it might just be over kill. His comeback to my fountain is I'll have bruises, hasn't happened yet and I have been in rough and launched some huge cruiser wakes in the 1000 islands. I can't be convinced that my old 36 ol would have to slow down in that video he has posted. Down the tabs an let her eat, I would have passed him no question |
I`m no expert in boat building but I`m putting AC in my boat and from a laymans point of view this thing is built pretty well, every compartment I have to drill thru is thick and solid. The 18v cordless I first used was no match for the boat.

I agree 100%
Many faster boats are next to or behind my old 36 Outlaw when it got snotty !!! |

Hey Full Farce you have been exposed. Seems your fellow area boaters share the same opinion of you in real life that we have of you on the internet. You sure have a lot of big water experience for boating only 3 years. Learn to be humble ass clown
|
I would love to run that mistress in 3 to 4s. I bet that is one of the most comfortable rides.
|
Not bashing any boats but if Baja and Fountain can run in the rough with a Cig or Apache then how come you don't see them in the races?? Fountain yes but it's their race version. I could be wrong but I don't see any bajas or lightnings out there.
A good rough water boat would be any Larry Smith Scarab!!! Smokin Joe, best boat of all time!!!! |
I don't see a lot of Statements, Nor techs or Skaters at the races either. Pretty sure they are good quality boats.

dude i have seen a 28 saber, yes it's a nice ride, but no way it would ride as well as a 36ol in 3-4'. It may be able to keep up with the 36ol but you are going to be getting your ass kicked.

The fountain race boat has the same bottom, in fact it is made with a lighter lay up, yes I said lighter! Light is where it is at, everyone is trying to make their rides lighter and stronger at the same time. The days of filling a mold with a dump truck load of resin and fiber are over Again, full farce started throwing stones, we ate throwing them back. Why post a video of his cig hitting 1 ft waves on a thread with the topic of "why does every one sh1t talk baja" that in itself is talking crap. I just don't like him, but I love boats...all of them. |
4 Attachment(s)
these are the 41 Sabers
they made quit a few 28's and best riding 28 out there! boats are built for big water so yes i would take a Saber any day over a baja. you might be able to run in the rough but it will be no where as comfortable as a 28' Saber. |
