Missouri boat has drop out seats, New York boat doesn't look like it in the pic's, I was high bidder and went to $12,977 on the Missouri 260 and it did the same thing as the NY boat, think he ran it up as well although with the reserve off maybe not. I talked to him on the phone yesterday, anxious to sell as he has bought a 38 Scarab in Calif. and needs to get it shipped to Missouri. Checked shipping estimates, go from approx $850 to $1,200, the NY boat I feel comfortable towing home as it's less than 200 miles. That affects my bid as well as I'm tapped out at $14K, don't have another cent to spare.

You can rent a f150 and go get the missouri boat.. Let the auction end and see if he contacts you if he does try to negotiate your best deal on both boats then make your decision, thats about all you can do at this point..

Good Luck,

Fleg

Heard nobody rents trucks for towing due to liability, plus at approx 1,000 miles one way, gas, tolls and mileage charges, and 1 night hotel might run me more than the shipping cost.

Most of the 260's in 1991 came with fiberglass boxes below the seats. Mine was that way, but changed them out to bolsters after getting the frames (thanks to Fleg1) for the seats as the seats are Aero and a perfect fit to the frame. Mine also had the galley package as pictured here.

Called the Missouri guy back, nice guy, talked my ear off, boat requires 91 Octane, runs 76 with a 25 Mirage at 5,000 rpm. Only runs Amsoil 20/50. Said it handles rough water well.

Nightlife said it best. If it isn't meant to be then it won't happen. There are tons of boats out there, I think the one with the replica hp500 motor is one of the better buys and the owner seems based on pictures to have taken good care of it. If he used similar parts the hp motors should be able to rev to 52-5400? I could be wrong but that's what I gathered from reading posts. Less then a day to go

Lost the Missouri 260 at the very end, guess I'll keep looking and think about riding up and looking at the 260 in NY possibly this Sunday. It was more money with less features but closer.

http://delaware.craigslist.org/boa/3614461194.html

Found this one this morning, it's 1/2 hour away, not sure what the model number it is and how much cockpit room it would have compared to the 260. Add claims it's a 1990 27 ft but NADA doesn't list a 27 for that year.
