Thanks for the add on the 27 in Chicago, that's what i want. I hate when people list something for sale without a phone number. The email process is a pain, not like sending a normal email, I've sold several things on Craigslist and always put my cell number on there. Gonna try and get a hold of them and get the details, hours etc, looks clean in the pic's. I wonder if my Nissan Pathfinder would make that long a tow with that boat. It's rated for 6,000 lbs.

I have heard of worse pulls. Think I might look to barrow something a bit bigger to pull it home.

Sounds like road trip time! The boat does look clean, the only thing is that a mag 365 motor or a 330? The intake manifold looks like the 330 but I can't really tell from the CL pic. Definitely more boat for the money and not terribly old.

Did the mapquest, he's not iin Chicago but Wisconsin and about as far left as possible, about 1,025 miles away, i was hoping to keep it in a 500 mile or so range so we could do a drive, get a room and see the boat the next day. Might have to wait for warmer weather to consider a drive that far and to be able to take a ride, probably everything frozen out there now, plus the farther away the more expense I have with traveling and towing.

I am sure there is someone that lives close that would go look at it for you.

Ouch now that's a trip! Yea I can imagine the lakes are all frozen out there this time of year. I'm sure stuff will pop up soon just keep your eye open. You have to look every few days minimum. New York seems to always have boats come up for sale. You're buying at the right time. And as it gets closer to spring more will come available you'd think. Keep us posted!

Found a 236 only about 45 min away, going to look at it tomorrow if it doesn't snow. Kinda pricey but you never know how bad he wants to sell. Not crazy about bottom paint but low hours. Low end size wise but has a lot of cockpit room, easy to climb on the bow, decent power.

Looks alittle dirty in the pictures as long as it will clean up nice. We all know how pictures can be. And that just gives you room to beat him up alittle on it. 280 hrs isn't hateful either. I'm not a big fan of the bottom paint but A friend sanded his and recoated with brand new and trailers it. It makes it look less bad (yea I know less bad) when it's new and nice looking. It appears that it doesn't have bolster seats? Was that one of your requirements? Just curious.

I saw that too about the seats, I really like bolster seats as the other 236 had them that I made an offer on plus was priced a lot cheaper to start with. Doesn't look like it has any canvas cockpit cover which I like as well, still gonna look tommorrow as it's my day off and it's close, have to work Saturday.

That looks like mold on the cockpit interior to me. If they only have that sport top for a cover I would guess it made for a nice "greenhouse" effect if it was covered wet one too many times. Don't go over 9k and we can fix it with an all new interior with bolsters! It needs a Sunbrella cockpit cover that allows the moisture to escape, and blocks the sunlight. When they flip the cover open for you your nose will tell you if it IS mold.
