i live onj lake erie, so it is like a mini ocean, you can't see land from 3 sides, from my pier, it is the shallowest of the last so it gets rough the quickest and we get westerly windes from ohio and canada alot prevailing westerly so i like my 1997 24ft 24 degree dead rise, it rides perfect in a 2 to 3 ft chopp at 75 mph , flat water my bvoat tidder totters , but lake erie is never flat, and then i use trim tabe son flat days to help the titor tooter motion side to side

The lake i live one is about 26k acres... So relatively small! We have lame Texoma that is much larger! Dont need a bigger boat, just want one for the wife and kids! Yeah I believe the coast of some of these boats are insane, I actually started a thread on why are they so much! You should read it, very interesting !

i talked to baja today, did you know they own donzi, fountain, proline, so if you buy a donzi, baja owns it now,

my opinion is, i worked at wellcraft and in the stock room for a while they had a triple percent mark up, i priced everything out buy parts, the reason is the owners are so greedy, becasue they didn't pay me **** at well craft, down in florida,

I'm a Baja fan for sure! the price matches my wallet. If my pockets where deeper I would be in a Outerlimits with all te bels and whistles!!

The "Outerlimits of my wallet" Bahahaha LOL.

Rick, before we bought our 25', we looked at a 29' outlaw and would you believe the bed was shorter than the one in our 25'. My feet hung over the end of the bed. That was the main reason we got the 25' instead. That and it was way nicer too, also twice the price of the 29'.
BTW I got my swivel pin fixed and installed all new bushings as well. Just waiting on the motor now.

Well I called the engine shop last thursday and they had'nt even started on it,lol. They are really busy this time of the year, they did say that its next in line and to give em a call at the end of this week. Ya, that upper pin wasnt to bad to do. I repainted the bellhousing and gimbal ring and then thought what the phu#k, I might as well paint the bilge while i'm waiting. Bought some Bilgekote and went after it. I'm about half way done, work keeps interfering with my boat hobby.

That work thing is always getting in the way of my personal time, might have to quite so I can get some stuff done...LOL!!! Those motor guys, it's always your next, and call me next week, busy time of the year etc... Hope it doesn't turn into a horror thread and that they are straight up! I'm just praying for rain, or I'm going to be riding all summer!!

I'm pulling motors end of this season, clean bilge, and refresh if needed! Of course I have to pay for this so I'm in no hurry!!

Rwbrew3 04-16-2013 11:44 PM

Who made your decal on the motor for you on the 675 motor? I wanted to update my 500EFI plate and cover it since I am only using the intake plennum for a 540. Thanks[/QUOTE]

Man, not sure if your still following this thread or not, sorry didn't catch this one.. Let me know if your still looking for a decal.

rick
took my boat mon to be worked on, new fuel pump (mechanical to handel super charger), fuel pressure regulator. some odds and ends and off to the prop shop in ohio to have my new prop built for a hopfully great summer,

but only one concern, lake water down in lake we need alot of rain fast, or alot of boats will be in the parking lot, i may have to change launches or even change lakes.

but the boat will be built proof, and have tubing, skiing and wake boarding ability, with the new prop and lowe rpms

That's awesome, we need rain too! Are water levels are way down, if it doesn't rain there will be a lot of boats squeezing into a small area! I tried wake boarding behind my boat and was tough, hard to hold such a low speed!

i think i am going into the prop business and salvage for metal, all the left blades in the launch, i am going to take down to the junk yard for scrap money, or melt them down and make new ones and resell them back to the guys who left them in the lake

Scrap is a competitive buisness with not much reward, now the prop buisness may be something to look into! If I had any skills I would design a new boat motor, half the cost of a merc, with a much longer life, mayb even get into the out drive world and do the same. Until then I have to pay for the asking price of the wizards!

Water levels seem to be a problem everywhere! Hopefully this will change soon with some rain! Never boated in anything but lakes and rivers!

Might just have to use my bass boat or mud boat all summer!!

they need ed to dredge the dock aree, they dredge everywere else, but i think the old mayor pocket the money to drege the launch so we are **** out of luck

, worse case i will sit in it in my back yard and drink beer in it, and not have to worry about using to much gas

Luckily we never have a low water problem around these parts. We do have aproblem with rain though. Our summers are about 2 and a half months long then back to rain.

Man, that stinks!! Are summers never end it seems! You need to move to Texas, always bating season if water levels permit!! If not we hunt!!!!

Lucky dogs!! Never ran in the big blue, I'm about 4 1/2 hrs from Galveston so it might be something I try one day. I've been on local lakes and rivers my entire boating career. Lived in Parker Az, lot of time on the Co river and Havasu, only time water was low is when the closed the dam, then there was no water!!! Every thing sitting in sand!!!!

Rwbrew3 04-25-2013 08:17 PM

Ive been looking at my boat and wondering what I can do to make it a bit different than all the others. Doesn't seem to be a lot of accessories for them! Other than custom fabricating something, do y'all know where i could find a place,or have any ideas ?

Thanks

I have a 99 outlaw with a 510ci BES BBC GM performance parts aluminum heads and a custom BES camshaft, M1 pro charger 80lb injectors aeromotive fuel system. Boat has a bravo 1 with a Hydromotive prop.

I've seen 86 on GPS once but still have cable steering so I've never attempted it again. I know it's dumb and I actually plan on slowing the boat down some to make it live. I'm turning about 5400rpms and 3lbs of boost from the M1.

Rwbrew3 04-26-2013 07:45 PM

5600 on a 28p Hydromotive that's been worked to death. Honestly I'm not sure what the true pitch of the prop is currently but it started as a 28

I don't normally say much on forums, but that kind of irritated me. I started reading this because my father has a ’00 25OL and I might see something that I want to try with my Hammer. Anyway, nice discussion here and some fine boats, looking good fellas!

Tried to upload a pic, it wants a URL, maybe I need to upgrade my membership or something.

There is lots of knowledge on this forum for sure, most of the guys are awesome and are willing to help anyway they can, however, there are a few who do nothing but poke and put down others for not floating there brand.
You do have to be at least a gold member to post pics, unless you can figure out the whole photo bucket thing, ( i couldnt ). I enjoy my boat, does what I want it to do and then some. I always post on here before I ever do any upgrades on my boat just to check with the pros, they have kept me from wasting money, or potentially hurting my motor.

You could probable email pics to someone and they can post your pics for you, I would do it but my I pad doesn't let me post either.

Just an update Rick, I finally got my motor back. It made 760@6000 with 28 degrees timing and 779@6000 with 30 degrees timing. Making 7.5 lbs boost at 6000rpm. Just putting the final touches on the install. Hopefully the weather gets nicer so I can try it out soon.

WOW! That's is going to be crazy fast! I would think at 6k rpms your boost would be a tad higher... Can't Waite to hear how it does after you splash her. Going to be a beast!! Thanks for the update, keep me coming!!
