I guess that sometimes people change the gears for high altitude. This certainly helps explain the high slip numbers, lol. From what I figure the 25p 1.65r is pretty close to the 23p 1.5r. Bummer that I sold my 25p now that I'm getting the motor sorted out, lol.

Just glanced at the first few pages of the thread your turning the RPM to run mid 60's with a 23p, so I wouldnt say its an engine issue.... there is NO WAY you have a 1.50 to 1 gear set.... my 252 islander with 310 hp runs 54 with a 21p.



. I can't think of why someone would do that to a stock 454mpi set up on a V hull.
