Hey Allan, you back to your hometown?? How was the trip? Sorry we couldnt hook up. It would figure the weeks youre here we dont go boating. Of course its hard to boat with out a boat!! Anyway I dont think that guy was with the crew that went out on Saturday. sounds like a nice expedition though, and boat. Well if you get out this way this summer the boat should be up and running  I'll be out in havasu alot this summer. Thats a trip you need to make!!

Hey Griff,

I am not familiar with your new boat. Pic? :)

Allan4 12-12-2001 09:50 PM

Right on Griff.....

Tank, trip was pretty good, considering why I was there :D Newport Beach is really frickin' cool man, but it feels good to be back home again. 2 weeks is a pretty long trip for me.

This Havasu thing........man, I really should think about that, but holy hell, that's a long way to tow from Cincy. Key West is about 21-22--Hualing ass-- and S. Padre Ils is about 23-24. San Diego is supposed to be about a 40 hour drive, so Havasu would be in the 30's for sure. So I figure LOTO would be more logical, but who knows, I would love to hit Havasu some day. I need to get the ole' body working right before I do any of this jazz though.

I saw something big and fast running hard off the coast when I was checking out the beach. Looked like a big cat, but it was only a dot on the water, way out there.......but man it was loud!!

Thanks again for the calls last two weeks, I would have loved a ride, but no biggie. Later chiefo.....

I also was wondering the same thing? Stock Market staying strong? Im in the red since March,(still got my 2000 Outlaw 25 SST in June anyway) should of, could of, would of....Hard work and financing is another good way of stepping up, just put enough down that you are not into an upside down loan.

Lot's of newbies!! Good stuff, start typing boys, it's always good to hear from everyone. The ole' motor project is moving along, will try to button up the short block tomorrow. Can't wait to run this spring!! Just may have to pull her out in March for a little test run, of course I hope it's complete by then!!

Tank, dude, I read about your stereo in the suburban, damn, I wish I could have seen that thing!! Oh well, maybe next time. Feel free to send over some pics, but I won't be able to check my e-mail for another few weeks.....long story......directly realted to my So Cal visit last month.

Oh well.....why not. Very short version here. 3 1/2 years ago I bought a house and basically the house made me extremely sick. Environmental poisoning, mostly likely an aldehyde and mold combination. So, now today 3 1/2 years later I am still working on getting back to full go. I had to sell my business about 2 years ago and am lucky not to have lost everything. Still have both boats by some miracle. So I am still working on the diagnostic specifics (pretty technical stuff) and detoxing my poor system. All this froma guy who was not sick but one time for ten years prior to buying the house. That is about as short as I can sum it up. Lookign forward to my first normal summer, and that is why the motor project has taken me 1 1/2 years to date, along with most other things in my life!!! No worries though, almost better and very happy about that. I haven't been in my house for 6 mos, and have not set up an e-mail account on another computer. Ouch!! Everything is going really good though. Not that anyone asked, but that is what happened. Dangerous stuff for sure. Oh yeah, that is why I have over 900 posts. Normally I would have about 50. Later. :D :D

thisistank 01-06-2002 01:47 PM

Allan: That doesn't sound good at all! Hope all is working out and the trip out here helped out. Get back out here again and I will def. get you out on a boat. But prob. a good idea to wait until they are fixed! :D :D Hopefully mine will be done by april. It's just all about the money.

If you are into stereo's, you'd like The suburban. T.V.'s, Playstaion 12 12" JL competition W6's Xtant and PPI Amps, MB Quart mids and highs. There's pictures of what it used to look like before on 38's and a 9" lift at www.bighabits.com Thats me next to the lamborghini too in the picture area. Thers also a shot of the speakers. The burbs sitting on 42's now with an 11" lift.

Allan4 01-06-2002 11:56 PM

Tank, thanks man, the trip to CA helped a bunch. It's a pretty gruesome story actually, but everything is working out just fine, thankfully....In 2000, I took the boat out 4 times.....uuugghhhh. Same year I sold the business. Now.....that sucked!!

Dude, the websight kept freezing up this computer.....POS. I saw the suburban, the purple looking one, dude, that thing is frickin' bad as hell. Didn't get a chance to see the other pictures, got tired of having to reboot hte computer!! I'm a pretty casual stereo guy, but I like the sounds the hot systems make. I'm more into the average system that holds it's own. That s*** is expensive, so I spend the dough on other goodies and toys. Got a whole garage full of them, but not as many as I used to. Part of the liquidation to avoid debt strategy I had to go thru. Actually looking to buy a sled (snowmobile for you warm weather guys!!) if I can pick one up for a good price.

Installed the pistons today, and going to check the rod cap clearances tomorrow, then oil pump and pan... and that will be it for the shortblock. Next will be the valve train and heads. So far so good, I am pretty certain I will see about 600/600 or so. Hoping that anyway. Maybe a little lower on the TQ number, but the HP should be right about 600 by best estimates.

take 'er slllloowww hommie.....A4 :D

thisistank 01-07-2002 12:23 AM

Glad to hear your motors coming along bro. I should be giving my mechanic a huge chunk here shortly to get the ball rollin. I'm going through serious withdrawls!! It's all good rollin on cigarettes and scarabs and all, but not having my own boat for the last few months has really sucked balls!!! :D
Talk to you later brother.

steve chalupka 01-12-2002 09:47 PM

Hi everyone! I new to this group. I am also a member of Team Baja Marine.
My wife and I recently purchased our first Baja. It's a 1998 272 Boss w/a balanced and blue-printed 502 w/M1 Procharger. approx. 618hp, 85mhp on a Gaffrig speedo. The previous owner was a "gearhead" who had it done right! The work was done by Buzzard Racing. I just visited my Baja (just like every weekend)at my marina. Dreaming of spring! I'm having some additional work done this winter like replacing the transom mounted mufflers tips w/ angle cut 8" ss tail pipes from Corsa. This will provide a true Capt's call effect. The boat currently has Quick & Quiet Plus. This boat will be a big difference from my previous boat (2000 19'Chaparral w/ 5.0L 240hp, approx 58 mph). I'm also thinking about tinting the windshield. Any opinions? I've seen it done and it looks pretty cool.
I'm also looking into new names for the boat. Something with my own identity. It's currently called "INEXCESS".
I'm looking forward (as with my new friends at Team Baja Marine) to learning from all of you about the joys of Baja ownership. My wife and I are ardent boaters on the Chain of Lakes in IL and log around 175 hrs per season. Maybe I'll meet some of you someday if any of you boat there?
Take care

MERC575 01-15-2002 01:25 PM

I will be at your res. some and at alum creek some but i will be at the lake most of the time. I'm looking for a rack somewhere by anchors away. and yes i will be holding my a$$ if this this runs anything like it looks. should be out of paint shop next tuesday. I CAN'T WAIT I READY TO GET HER WET

promike 01-17-2002 06:20 PM

my current boat is a 1990 250es. I had a 250es before but I divorced that boat! went to a scarab until i found this Baja. we have rebuilt just about every thing on this boat. we changed the colors, interior, motor, outdrive, sound system, trailer, etc. The motor is a 540ci merlin. It dynoed at 632hp and 660tq. It has CMI exhaust. 1050dominator, crane roller cam, MSD ignition, and a host of other new components. Of all the single engined boats that are available, I think the Baja is the best bang for a working mans buck. We often take weekend trips and although it is a little cramped, we enjoy it a lot. The boat still needs to be propped out a little better. Top speed as of the last time in the water was 75.4 gps. It has all new gauges with a gps speedo. We just finished the boat and hope to play with it all summer this year. I appreciate all the help I recieved from other members with this endevor. If any of you see us in the water this year please stop and say hello. Name of boat is CUZWECAN. :) ;)
