It was a noble gesture, but given the fact that each of the auctions was won today ebay will likely reverse the negative feedbacks if the seller makes the appropriate request/case.

packinair, how's the Fountain CC & Jeep Wrangler treatin' you?

Come one now, we are not a group of friends in which one can just saying sorry and it's gonna work out. The thread was to find out what happened, and by this post we pretty much know what happened. The business is going bust and looks like he has major family issues. Shoulda Woulda Coulda?!?! It's absolutely no surprise to me that this thread is here. People should have seen the potential for this to happen when prior posts were made in subpar dealing that they had had with Trick. the writing was on the wall, but some refusing to read it. Again it's our ignorance as a whole to not accept that there may have been a problem, when months ago there was a post about delivery issues and not receiving merchandise only partial orders.

I think that you have pretty much nailed it. Don't get me wrong, I think what happened totally sucks but I can think of several legal reasons why he can't talk now. My guess is that he is filing. If so he can't offer any preferential treatment to anyone and it will be left up to the trustee which creditors get paid. It will probably be in order of who has what priority, significance of collateral and timing. Unfortunately the most unsecured creditors (consumers) will be holding the bag. I would be thouroughly surprised if he came clean now.

Now as a former lender, I think it would have been noble if he had come clean before it all came down. He could have said that he had no other choice and elimated a bunch of speculation. It was always nice to get a heads up from a borrower before the legal notice. At least you knew you were screwed. I also see how he could have been advised to keep quiet about that. Bad situation.

If you guys knew how difficult he has made it for other marine retailers.

I know Don at Triad personally, (I own a small marine repair and upholstery shop in Phx.) and I know he will take the high road. Let me just say, that Don has had a constant battle with suppliers to keep his product lines, and to actually sell them when he has to abide by MAP pricing and Fred has never had too.

Not to mention the fact that Fred always has his band of a$$ sucks on this site chearleading for him.

Ever notice that anytime someone posts something in the advertising section, Fred had to top them? Ateco? Triad? How many CMI threads did Fred and Ateco go back and forth on?

Freds complaining lost Triad the Livorsi line a couple of years back, how do I know? Don offered to sell me his internet business back then when he was moving out of state to be closer to his family, and I knew what was going on. Livorsi had strict policies about selling their product below suggested retail or selling competitors products and somehow Don was always getting the nasty letters from Fred and Livorsi about it. It's funny how Fred could always have the best price and nobody else could ever compete with him. Or that he could sell EMI products with his logo on it and Don would get in trouble for selling Gaffrig.

From what I know (and I buy stuff from all the same suppliers Fred did) he was king of drop shipping product. He would beat a supplier down in price, and then make them do all the work.

It's not a surprise that Mike (Rexmar) doesn't advertise on this site. With Fred and his band of a$$sucking chearleaders it's really not worth spending the money here.
:

Well this about sums it up! How's the old saying go "We're all eating soup but with a fork".

He never once complied with MAP pricing but complained bitterly when we deviated. The margines on most marine products are so slim that it's a wonder many places can stay in business.

I know I got blasted HARD when we advertised "Wil beat anyones prices".

It's not so much the feedbacks, it's the fuc&-with. You can pretty much make up all the fake Ebay accounts you want and keep him perpetually re-posting ambushed auctions.

...or so I've been told :)

If it's who I think it is the "phuckin with" will not end there. Some of our "friends" are very protective.

Funny, I had everything and lost it all 13 years ago. I guess it boils down to character. Some people don't have it..... :(

I really have to commend OSO in my experience. ln the instances where I have given certain companies a hard time, my threads/posts were never deleted. Certainly, I was blasted by the "following" but since all my posts were based on fact (although somewhat sarcastic), they all remain to this day. That is a major part of this board - you have to read things with an objective mind, and not just jump on the bandwagon. Just because you happened to have a good experience with a certain vendor, doesn't necessarily mean the next guy will; especially when he can write a 2 page detailed explanation of how he got screwed. Granted, if someone posts 2 sentences that "so and so is a d1ck and f'd me. Don't do business with them" - fire away, but when someone details their every dealing and how things promised were not delivered - think about it before blasting them. How many times in this instance have people posted the facts about a detailed order that got screwed up, and been hammered by members here who ordered something simple like a t-shirt, and since it was delivered perfectly on time, feel this is a good argument for why the other customer is unreasonable?

That being said, the argument that Heath should have said something sooner is about the most idiot comment I've heard in a while. When I spent some time getting beaten up while bringing a few details of a manufacturer with "interesting" manufacturing habits to light - I didn't work for them or rely on them for my livelihood. If I had posted what I did (while working for them), not only would I have lost my job, but no one here would have given me the thanks for warning them anyway. Why? - because if I was successful in warning everyone, everyone would take my advice, the company would have gone out of business, and no one else would have put down money and been screwed. How mad can you get when you don't get screwed? In this case, even if Heath had posted the truth, the "following" would have never allowed it to happen. Heath would have been shot down instantly, and you'd all still be out the money because at this point he'd be a fired, disgruntled employee so no reason to listen to him. Certain members here (and I think we all know who they are), even in this thread, have gone from helping cause this whole Trick problem by being his staunch supporters (ignoring all commen sense), to trying to Monday morning quarterback and blame others.

Hey JRomy, I hope you like that 33'PP as much as I did when I was thinking about doing exactly what you did. What a great boat.
