You seem to be taking this a bit off topic Kirk has asked a question everyone prob wants to know the answer to.

Post counts dont mean alot but membership date ussually is very interesting you just joined but prob knew about this site for a while I am basing that on the fact you said you purchased from trick and other people so you must boat and I am assuming you knew about this site do to thaat fact.

I know Kirk have boated with him and know Fred but dont know you. From your join date posts I wonder if you have a dog in this fight.

Fred did welll by me shipped me parts and said pay him when I used them this was when he first started in buis and apparantly was part of the long con I paid Fred now wished I had not and would have been able to pay some of the member who got burned

With any con the people who get in early make out and then the larger amount of people who are enticed by the excitement and good deals get burned. This is what happened here.

Fred suxs

I must be missing the point, When did Fred ever try to con customers out of anything ??? All he tried to do was get us the lowest prices possible on marine parts while he under-cut the competition to win market share.. I woud venture to guess he put up and lost a lot of his own money. The other side to the story is that he took on product lines and inventory on credit and didn't pay his suppliers, when he lost control of the debt he switched suppliers again to try and re-group.. sure, his business model was a recipe for disaster and it all came crashing down around him but I fail to see where he intentionally tried to wrong us... as for his suppliers, and competition, thats a whole other story,, as for customers he ows product or refunds too,,, his lack of response here tells the story about what a creep he really was / is...

When all Hell started to happen a couple of weeks ago,and Trick was fire selling on ebay, my son sent Fred a message through the ebay account asking a number of things
1) Where are the parts i am waiting for
2) what is going on things are coming apart on the message boards
3) why is your Phone message machine on and no one ever answers

Fred sent him a message back with two words

Sounds alot like another boat business I was involved in a couple of years ago

This is so so sad That these companies give such a black eye to those that work hard at running a good boat related enterprise

When he started using the word "back ordered" on a daily basis. When he started sending out partial orders while billing for complete orders. When he started ignoring customers who had paid in full and didn't receive shipments in full. Open your eyes man. There was a pattern developing for at least 1 to 2 years of lies and deciept.

Fred built up a reputation and following here on OSO as well as a few other boating boards. He used that reputation and "friendship" to advance his gross sales figures. We are not the only ones who never got what they paid for. He used that trust to screw people out of money.
If thats not "running a con", then what is?

He used his good name here to take peoples orders, and money, with no intention of delivering said goods. You cannot tell me that for the last 6 months this guy didn't know that the end was near. He should have stop business, filed for BK protection, and let the courts divide the spoils. Instead, he continues to offer the illusion of being the helpful guy, taking orders and money, and stiffing people. Yes, I am one of them. I feel so much better that my wallet is light over 5 grand, knowing that poor Fred just had a bad business plan! Chris288, are you out any money? If you were, I venture to say that your tone may be a little different!
