I think you did the riight thing by keeping your mouth shut. I love this site, but the problem is if you post anything negative about a "favorite" here on OSO, you get flamed. All the cheerleaders jump on the bandwagon and you can't get your point accros.

I can see why those who had a good experience with Trick were loyal to the company. I can't see why they couldn't step outside of their own heads and realize and accept that someone else could have had a bad experience with Trick.

I can see why those who had a bad experience with Trick, tried to bring it up and were shouted down are now angry and feeling vindicated. I can't see why they would turn it into a personal attack or make veiled threats.

And we want to bring back the "Bad Business" forum? Yeah, we've done a great job of behaving like adults on this thread.

I'm Scott Cecil, Freds nephew. Sorry for all the problems that my uncle has caused you and the boating community. As you see now, the problems ran much deeper than just shoddy business practice. I knew what the outcome would be even back before they picked the name Trick Marine. Same as BK (twice), Pizza inn, and Checkers. What suprises me is that it happened so quickly and before the dollar amount outstanding git bigger. Given enough time larger orders would have been commonplace. Will unc (Fred) respond on the board................im guessing no. Nore will he return Steves email. Thats just the way its going to be.

Fred was my father figure for many years but put an end to our relationship when he screwed me on a deal. Yes, I was the first one to get scammed by Trick Marine!! Pages could be filled about this deal but I'll spare you the details. Just lie after lie and 2 seasons without an busted boat. Ultimately just got fuched out of $6500. People, I dont have that kind of cash and had to firesale a motercycle to pick up my boat from MER Performance. At that time I told unc that i"d never speak to him again. And I never will.

I wanted so badly to flame him on the board and everywhere else possible. I just wanted to drive Trick into the ground but just couldnt make myself hit send. But as you all know I would have been the first one to get flamed for it. What bothered me just about as much at the time was that he was taking up a collection for the Katrina fund. I sure hope they got something after all they had gone thru.

Just a note, Aunt Cynthia had never been a drinker. I know that for 100% certain, but she did hit the bottle for a few months after her son's death. Glad to hear your doing well now auntie.......keep it up!! (she has been off the bottle for quite some time now). Id love to hear from you.

Just a lil clarification about Mark at MER. They were top notch from start to finish. Absolutely would do business again. They had and have no no affiliation with Trick whatsoever. So, I'm really wishing that MER was not mentioned in the same post as Trick.
