Grindstone is just a shell corp owned by Patrick. Patrick has been paying Rackspace acct since day 1 which is admirable. He also funded start up costs which again is very admirable. Similarly , you along with many other volunteers aided the venture with hours of work. The mods put in more time, the admins put in untold hours. This is why I am so pisssed off. Despite all that , Chris disrespected everyone mentioned above and let it get wrecked. But to answer the main question, Grindstone IS NOT a web hosting company. |

I have to give Sunkin credit. He got a group of powerboaters interested enough to give their time, effort, talent, sweat , money, and resources to build him a website. Unfortunately the real Sunkin surfaced and the same guys that built it, left, and in doing so tore SOS down. Sunkin, now realizing his fatal mistake and also SOS's demise was at hand, decided one final trick was in order.
He left the website to Stecz and spun a tale of other interests and pursuits as he "maybe exited". All with the hopes that the powerboaters would return and rebuild SOS. What happens next will be interesting.......... |

I can't speak for Alec, but for me it's curiosity. My IP address is still banned as well and as long as ex-members are unable to log on it would appear that nothing has really changed over there. Big surprise. I gotta say that I am completely astounded that anyone would think that place has any future at all after what has happened. |

If he doesn't , then its just another BS story from Sunkin. If Dave owns it and we cant get back in then I know he is straight up enough to say so. But thats not what he has said to me. And seriously, how can someone not laugh at this last ditch effort? After what we've all seen, for anyone to actually believe a single word of this latest ploy, would be foolish at best. There will be no such transfer, don't kid yourselves. Does anyone in their right mind actually suppose that he's simply going to just turn over the keys and slither off into the sunset? Really? REALLY??? This is my favorite part: To that end, I am transferring ownership and control to Dave Stecz. Dave has agreed to continue to guide the site based on its original plan- by boaters, for boaters. And just as before, the site will be about the sport, not corporate or commercial interests. The existing moderation team will continue to do the things that they do. "...not for corporate or commercial interests...?" Really? Well, as it turns out the site and the rackspace account are held by none other than...you guessed it...a corporation. A relationship that was completely unbeknown to the entire team of volunteers until we recently uncovered the truth. Not to mention, there's that fact that we were made aware by dozens of people who were contacted and begged for money in the weeks immediately following our departure, despite not having any commercial interest. If nothing else those fine folks got some good belly laughs out of it. If one were truly serious about the love of the sport they would insist that this little charade come to an end. If one were really serious about the love of the sport, they would set aside this separatist notion and instead try to re-unite our community into one. Then there's Stecz...I like the guy. Really, I do. But now I have to wonder. In fact, we all wondered for damn near two years what it is that he actually did. And we still wonder. |

I was not implying anything. I was just stating that lots of sites today are listed on whois with proxys. Being registered with a proxy has nothing to do with who does or does not own the domain name. |

When I was a cop we had a pursuit one day I was on the other side of the precinct so by the time I got there he was cuffed.Started to help the other unit search the car then notice the guy has a stupid almost grin on his face as I walk behind him he has a loaded 9mm in the small of his back.When I got there he was already cuffed so I assumed that whoever cuffed him search him...Just like Chris on OSO he was here before most of us and we all thought he must be ok because some one must know him and would speak up if what he said was not true.Problem was everyone thought the other members knew him when really no one did.Looking back there were so many red flags but most were missed. |
If Dave wants some believers he's gotta come on here and explain in his own words.
