The whole boat isn't worth 300K, the engines can be purchased brand new from BAM for 36K each (http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/n...new-stock.html). You lost more like 100K in parts, maybe less since they were used. If he wouldn't give you an address how did you get into his garbage? BTW taking stuff left out for the trash isn't stealing, it is public property at that point.

If he took it from your driveway at 3 am while you were asleep, thats stealing.
If you handed him the keys in exchange for whatever worthless piece of paper he gave you without so much as verifying funds much less waiting for it to clear, you got conned.
If you let him have it long enough to to send props out, take it for rides and strip it after he bounced the check, what were you thinking?
If the boat is still in your name, and you have the paperwork call the sheriff and go get it.
The situation your in sucks, I dont argue that, but its obvious we do not have the entire story.

I dont think this guy could have removed the engines and such on his own. I would love to find out if he hs any friends in the body shop industry, or auto repair, maybe boat repair... just anyone that would have theability to lift the engines out.
The hatch would of had to of been taken off in order for the engines to come out.
