Scammed by US Raceteam! Help!
 

Scammed by US raceteam!

An open letter to all organizers and raceteams, there is one small team in US that contracts European and Domestic drivers and after done payment starts conflicts and breaches contracts just to cancel the racing and keep the money, and then still races with other paying drivers!
We are a few racers that dreamed of racing in those great events of OPA and SBI and also the believing that the offshorepowerboatracing still is a gentlemansport, where trust and honour are keywords just like many other mainly self sponsored motorsports.
But now there is a one person team around that took advantage in that and contracted drivers for racing and then surprisingly finds angles to start arguing, just to get “reasons” to keep the paid money as a profit, and stopping our efforts to race in the USA.
That’s the lowest possible way of fraud, becuse this person presentents a fraudulent package in the name of such serious raceorganisers as OPA and SBI, takes advantage of the fine reputation of those organisations to convince people to join his team and send money for registration fees etc even on top of the agreed and paid for ones, just to give one example of his antics...
All of this above is not to be connected or blaimed with serious raceteams and people around.
We want this to be known and him stopped so others don’t get robbed from their dreams and money.
For all other serious raceteams out there feel free to contact us because We still have interest and dreams in racing in Worlds greatest events!
Note that We are open to discussion, are bringing our own sponsors and funds onboard for a serious raceteam or even be part of forming one together.
Note that we are three individual persons that didn’t knew each other before we got betrayed and bestolen of our money from this criminal.

Mika Tamminen. Finland. Racer in cars and boats.

As it was written on a Competitive and Prideful Team “United we Race” we will do that only if we all help to keep our sport clean and sportmanship so the world would be a righteous and better place to be in.

It is so embarasing for us that we even got involved with such a criminal minded person. We just love boating and offshoreracing and who could imagine that you should get stolen of your paid racingfees etc! And i had in mind to join up for the New York race also, would be wery proud to be able to honour the 9-11 victims! If i hade payed that fee also, he had probably scammed that to, well if that aint shamless i dont know what is! And Gino who got bestolen 8000usd and he would also be happy to join there and he also is a Firefighter in Belgium, who would have loved to honour his collegues! This is a sad story for all of us powerboating people.

In order to post a beware issue in this section, PROOF will need to be posted. You must post all the information, contracts, documents, photos, and/or legal papers etc. to back up your claim.

If this is not done in the next 24 hours this thread will be closed until the information is provided.

Post the name and proof! Why leave us guessing?

We are several people who have experienced the same fraud so this is a matter of sportmanship or not. I have not posted any names i just wanted feedback, and check if there is some general rules against this kind of behaviour. Or if this forum had som kind of advise upon it. Where else to post it but here?
The proof is the contracts and done payments etc. Which we can show amongst the emails and agrements made.

You seem to be singling this guy out? I've read many threads in this section where no proof was ever posted?

Because of all the he said she said threads a rule was made earlier in the year that facts are needed to be able to post in this forum.... We will not go back and edit posts or threads, this rule was make with ALL of your best interests in mind!

I would love to hear what you have to do with all this ???!!!!

I still havent posted his name and that have never been my intention. So just tell me how you want me to handle this.

And we certainly appreciate the warning, but it's not much of a warning if we don't know who you're talking about.

If you have sufficient proof then post it already along with their names. That we don't have to guess.

Thanks. I'm well aware of who the culprit is, but we're still waiting for the accuser to formally deliver the name of the accused. That's how this section is supposed to work. Not a guessing game.

i believe i met him years ago,,i think he was the rigger for catcando boat, it was about 3 am and he was giving a girl a ride home on a scooter before he hit the center median on us41 north bound in sarasota. i never laughed so hard watching those 2 go over the handle bars..

Can someone give advise how to handle a situation like this, should it be reported to the raceorganisators such as OPA and SBI? And is it realy there responsability to take action? What do you think?

you buy a plane ticket and have all the papers in hand and go to the race you sponsored...get the authorities involved on the spot...seems this will have to be handled in the state it occurred in..
