You mean me ? lol....yeah, I'm the one thats been whipping their azz's with my verbal judo skills since the beginning, and asking all the questions that they dont seem to wanna answer. I assure you that Im not involved in this scam. I just happen to know more about the whole thing than most. So cross me off your list. ;)

i was just thinking another good poll would be to ask what beware/stolen story had the most intrigue, mystery, etc...

I came up with four:

1. Cardshark
2. Cigarette Rice Hauler
3. 33 Outerlimits Stripped Down
4. 29 Fountain Fever (Goergia)

Is that the Outerlimits that "Mary King" was looking for ? I think it was a 39'...but I agree, that was a good thread too. :drink:

37 Stilletto right?

Either way that was my favorite, because it took such a turn when the dirty laundry came out.

This section should be a lesson to all. Selling a boat may be hard, but when you are desperate the con artist will find you....which will ultimately make your financial problems worse.

There is one constant I have seen in the five years of reading this section. The ones that have their ducks in a row seem to take little hits when this stuff happens. The ones that have made shady, impulsive, financially desperate descisions ALWAYS lose it all.

Need money quick? Sell some smaller items around the house on ebay or craigslist, but take the time and do the right steps when selling your boat........and keep the dayum insurance on it!

Wise words. You also gotta think about who's looking to buy your stuff. DJ-Danny looking for a Fountain woulda sent up reds flags for me. Kinda like a Hawaiian guy lookin at your snowmobile. It just aint right...lol. :drink:

I think GA has equal opportunity selling laws, so he really did not have a choice :drink:

No they dont. Owner either leaves keys in boats, unlocked trailer, boat left in a unsecure area. Boat left in a place where there was no people around. Once boat was stolen owner or police did not act quick enough. There are some impressive theives in the world and if they want stuff they will get it. But something like 80% of theft crimes are due to owner negligence ie, leavings chit unlocked, not hardening your property, ie locks, covers, security, lighted areas, etc.

Alot of these cases you can probably bet the owner was in it for insurance. Boat was costing them to much so they figured they would chop it up or sink it and pay off loan or they just wanted a new boat.
