What ever happened with the Card Shark debacle?

I imagine he's WELL acquainted with what a "Big Chubby" actual is NOW. I don't feel sorry for him in the least bit, the only thing is prosecution and sentencing vary GREATLY from state to state / county to county, if these SCUMBAG THIEVES from New York or Jersey had gotten prosecuted down in Texas too I can imagine you could easily add 10 years to whatever sentence they do get up there , they are getting off easier than they should have, Jeff got what he deserved!

Is this your brother's shop...love the cooling fan...

You know...the ultimate pay-back would be for someone to steal your Activator while you are away on leave. Now that would be karma.

Sorry to disappoint you dude, but Jeff is NOT in a cell and not anywhere close to a cell, wall or fence. He is in an entirely different place. There are no fences, no walls and he has approximately 5 acres that he and the others can go out on and walk around...play baseball, football or basket ball and there are NO FENCES around the fields. He can go out anytime he wants. I will be down there Saturday...I will tell him that you said HI..

that just means he takes a pecker to the face by choice...

SE Texas is loaded with units and I've never seen one that fits your description.
I know that there's lots of minimum security facilities for nonviolent and first time TDC prisoners, but I've really never heard of any this laid back as to how they house and oversee the offenders.
I'd say the powers that be really cut your bud some slack. I've read this thread since I joined here and thought in the beginning that with his cooperation he'd have gotten probation but I'd guess that the sheer value of the theft and how public things with the case were is what kicked him into the system.
I'm not glad he's incarcerated for his actions but I'm with the judge and jury on their call, he earned his stay with his actions. However I'm glad he didn't end up in a unit like Ferguson or Goree.
See ya,

I'm curious, where does TDCJ have a unit with no inmate cells, fences, or towers???

Jeff is next to the Ellis-1 unit in Huntsville on FM-980. The Ellis-1 unit does have 3 rows of fences topped off with razor wire and guard towers about every 150 yards or so, but this is where the "baddies" are kept. Jeff is approximately 1/4 mile from this place in the "trusty" facilities. There is a football field and a baseball field next to his housing area and everytime I go down there, I see inmates out there all the time with no guards with weapons. I have seen the inmates playing baseball against and with the guards. Most of the people in the area where Jeff is at are DUI people or people of non-violence. I will also say that Jeff is well liked by the guards that go thru his area.
As for him getting probation on his part of this mess...your assumption is correct. He was suppose to get probation, but the other 2 Texas guys that havent been charged in any of this are bussom buddies with the Sheriff and the DA in Sherman. There were deals cut by the Skater boat sales dude as well as the performance boat shop dude. Now before people get in a tizzie about these two clowns...why did the Skater boat sales dude haul @ss to the Sheriff and the DA and sign a letter of immunity when Jeff was arrested, which also included the Performance boat shop dude to testify against Jeff. If the Skater boat sales dude had nothing to do with any of this as HE CLAIMS...why the immunity letter? In reality...both of them are as guilty as Jeff and I would bet heavily that the boat owner was also in on it...bringing the total to three that have not been charged...yet. I know for fact that all three of them are being looked at. Now if supporters of the three want to call foul...slander, or whatever...I will say this AGAIN...BRING IT...please BRING IT, and then a whole new door will be opened up. But at the last minute of Jeff's trial, the DA crawfished on a deal he made with Jeff and his attorney and requested 6 years for Jeff under the protest of 2 detectives, 2 people from Merkal Insurance, and an assistant DA as well as some other investigators. It basically boils down to a "brother-in-law" deal showing that the Sheriff and the DA of Sherman are both liars and untrustworthy with giving their word. I also said that there is no better protection from the law than being buddies with a Sheriff and/or a DA...especially if your problem occurs in their county.
