why so much hype on the balance job and why do it ???.

I think the "balance job" meant they balanced the motor on the pallet so it wouldn't tip over.:lolhit:

Lil red, are you going to post some pictures of the teardown?

2tonchevy 08-27-2012 11:28 PM

damn this is simple one....lol

the seller shoulda known better than to list an engine as "0 Hours" when it clearly is not. idk why anyone would do this. seems pretty clear the seller is full of crap. it was misrepresented,,,,,either by ignorance or intentionally...either way it was still misrepresented. period. then the "go F yourself" reply pretty much says it all when it comes to the sellers attitude towrd this particular customer. everbody is a "good guy" until they get pinched. then what happens????

at the end of the day the buyer has no real recourse but to blast the sellers name on the net and take his licking. buyer beware. too bad. integrity is in short supply in some circles.

Rectangular ports on Magnum stay tuned maybe he will be the next guys name put on here?LOL Let the buyer beware or buy brand new pay 3x$$ for piece of mind!Good luck!

Might want to do some looking into that. Mercury does some weird things and if I recall not matching oval and rectangle ports is one of them. There are some engines out there from the Mercury that have this setup or vice/versa.

No matter how you look at it, it's still nuts.

I am sure if it was a local deal, that would not be an issue, the seller IS an honest guy, just may not have known for sure what the motor really was. Problem is the distance now.

I got stiffed by a guy that sold me 2 motors that were unusable. The motors got sent back. The guy did not want to do the right thing at first but eventually he came around to my way of thinking. If the seller is honest like you say he is should take care of his mistake and not make the buyer have to pay for his mistake.

No it was $1000 added to the price of a boat and trailer he bought. Seller sent a check back for $250. All im saying for now

Baja226sport 09-05-2012 06:40 PM

So, when you opened it up what did it look like internally? Think maybe a quick switch on the heads since the engine was going so cheap? Figuring nobody would notice?
