Gaffrig Performance

Anyone have any dealings with Gaffrig Performance? I ordered 6 gauges from them on Jan. 15th, 2014 and I'm still getting the run around up to yesterday. I've made several calls and each time I get a different excuse. Parts for them are being built and should be delivered soon, then they will be put together and sent out. the parts are in and they are in production, should be sent out in a few weeks. 6 weeks ago I was told that they where done and will be shipped in about a week. I figured that while I was away for the following month in Greece that they would be waiting for me when I got home. They weren't. Waited 2 more weeks and called yesterday. Now the guy tells me the parts for them are being made, he has no idea when they will be coming in and it is a very large order so it takes a long time. He didn't even ask me when I ordered or look it up. Their web site sucks too. So I'm back to square one again. He said he would have someone call me back yesterday afternoon or today but guess what? NO CALL! This sucks, sorry for my rant!

Cobra100+ 05-30-2014 11:21 AM

I have ordered from them direct in the past and as recently as 3 weeks ago with no problems at all. These were 2 5/8th race not custom however.

ItsPeanut 05-30-2014 11:33 AM

I have you beat fireboat. Been waiting since Oct 13. Excuse after excuse. Spoke with the owner directly three weeks ago and he promised to email me the ones he could ship me out immediately. Still no email. They may be a sponsor here but this is bull shiz. I think its totally ridiculous. They promised me every month i would call that they are coming in another 6 to 8 weeks. They promised that you will have them before the season. I do not care who they are. They suck.

Cobra100+ 05-30-2014 01:20 PM

Are you guys ordering something custom or off the shelf option?

paul buckner 05-30-2014 02:01 PM

They are std white gauges peanut was getting them for me as a gift , like he said they have been giving him the run around since October and he has had to call them a least six times long distance from the uk .
Peanut tell them to shove them where the sun don't shine Gaffrig your a friggin joke.

FIXX 05-30-2014 05:06 PM

I spoke with Mike. He explained to me the situation with the gauges. My complaint is why string me along saying they are coming and they are still no where near completion and don't quote me on it but I think He is now not even going to make them. Mike also said he would email me the photos of the gauges he could get me asap. Its been seven months. WTF at this point. Why have the gauges on your site if you have not even produced them. That i did not find out till 4 months after ordering them. I was told 6 to 8 weeks. I figured about twelve by the time I had them in hand which is why i ordered them in october so they can be installed before the season. The seasons here. Gauges are not.

Apparently the 270* gauges are the issue. They took orders for a product that was on their web site but comes to them in many pieces and they put them together? Like the others I am matching the other gauges that I have already replaced so I can't switch to another brand so I'm stuck waiting. It takes some balls to take orders for a product they aren't even close to having ready. Then to leave you hanging without a reasonable explanation why its taking so long. I really got the impression that the last guy I spoke with really didn't give a s**t. I'm not sure if I liked being bulls**ted better by the several other employees I spoke with? This is no way to run a business and expect to stay in business. It is surely the last things I purchase from them. How many customers do you think they can stand to lose before they go under?

M.2Man24 06-02-2014 07:11 PM

I ordered 5 different 2" gauges in late April. These were stock units off the shelf. Ordered them over the phone on a Tuesday at about noon, they were on my doorstep on Thursday, Illinois to Michigan. Great customer service.

BUT

I will say that I talked to mike about some install questions I had and he had me email some pics to him and I still have not gotten a reply from him. Been almost 2 months now. Obviously I did not wait and figured it out myself but I do agree that his broken promises and non response was frustrating. Bad customer service.

Just my experience.

Old Navy 06-03-2014 08:24 AM

I ordered 1 gage Friday. It shipped yesterday....to the wrong address! Lets see how this comes out.

I think I have spoken to that guy as well. He sounds young and a little thick in the head. I pretty much am going through the same as you fireboat. If it was not for matching I would walk also. Does anyone know if gaffrig is an OSO sponsor??

adk61 06-04-2014 02:10 PM

yes they are as slow as maple syrop in december

fireboatpilot 06-04-2014 07:00 PM

So I wait. How long, who knows? It sucks that my only satisfaction after this nightmare will be to never buy from them again and do tell everyone I know who is thinking of using them to think it over real good. You might not even have the same boat by the time your parts arrive, IF THEY ARRIVE AT ALL?

This came out well. They shipped me another gauge which I got yesterday.

fireboatpilot 06-10-2014 09:04 AM

I think that the biggest fraud being perpetrated on us their customer is that they are selling a product that they not only do not have available, they have no idea even when it will become available.

fireboatpilot 06-10-2014 09:13 AM

Just called them again. Now the excuse is that their supplier isn't producing a specific component needed in the 270 degree gauges and they are now looking for another source. They have no idea when they will become available but they have another gauge that is different but kinda looks similar. What kind of f**king bulls**t is this?

ItsPeanut 06-12-2014 01:38 PM

Fireboat, did they charge you upon taking the order??

sport396 06-12-2014 06:38 PM

Replaced all my gauges and actually got good service. Mike was helpful when I ordered the gauges. I did have to decide to take 270 degree sweep gauges when other were not avaialble but they gave me at reduced price price. They have an alternate site that discounts prices...Monster gauges.com. Again
had no issues.

Again, all I have had was issues. I was not offered any gauges at any alternate price or site. Im getting to the point where my next thread will be ***K GAFFRIG.

Gimme Fuel 06-17-2014 09:14 AM

I just ordered a gauge sender and some pyrometer thermocouple wire last Thursday off of their website and it all arrived last night.

paul buckner 06-17-2014 12:39 PM

What's this got to do with the guys that are getting the run around for 6 to eight months .

Madman7 06-17-2014 03:11 PM

With me being a NewB, I didn't want to start a thread bashing a company.

BUT

Since one is already started, I'll chime in.
I have a GPS Speedo that I've already sunk money diagnosing / repairing for a dead battery 2 seasons ago.
First time out last season it stopped working again.
When I was having my boat put away at the end of last season, I had my Marine Guy handle it for me, since he handles all my other boats.
He couldn't get thru to them on the technical support, no emails returned, getting the runaround, etc.
Keep in mind they had all winter to get back with him to get this resolved.

This spring I put the broken gauge back in so at least I don't have a hole in the dash.

Gaffrig-----never again.

It's like bashing my head against a brick wall.
Then let people know there is going to be a long wait instead of pissing them about , and Perhapps if Mike didn't spend a hour talking to you on the phone and spent his time returning peoples emails and phone messages people would be more understanding . I no longer want my gauges getting them elsewhere

fireboatpilot 06-19-2014 11:51 AM

Listen Fixx, instead of chiming in with some LAME**s excuses for Mike you should have told him during that hour phone call that he should #1 STOP selling a product that he doesn't even have available. #2 STOP LYING to people that unwittingly purchased said product. #3 START apologizing to said customers and either return their monies OR offer them a hugh discount for being loyal and PATIENT customers. THRTH goes along way and it works both ways. He should also flog those employees who treated said customers like idiots with deceptive information. Instead what we get is BS from his company, his employees and now you instead of hearing from Mike himself. Obviously you told him that some disparaging posts are being put up here and elsewhere but he chooses to keep our money and continue the BS.

listen !!! thats your job,,,,,i was asked by its peanut to call him,,just stating what he told me..thats the last time i do anyone a favor..

fireboatpilot 06-19-2014 07:44 PM

Hey Fixx. Just to be clear, what exactly is my job? Someone who you obviously know and defend screws over some people, some of which you know and do a favor for and I'm a prick? Yea that's right I got your original post where your so defensive that you start name calling? So is it's peanut a prick as well? Bottom line is that Mike should be on here responding to us his victims of deceptive buss. practices. Seems like all he did was feed you some of the BS he's been feeding us and you fell for it and passed it on, Sorry but Mike's the prick here nobody else but I thank you for trying anyway.

Customer service says you be honest and upfront about the situation. Honesty is the best policy...no matter how much it hurts. Your customers will thank you for it.

ItsPeanut 07-04-2014 10:45 AM

I have been getting nothing but broken promises and lies. GAFFRIG DOES NOT BELIEVE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!

fireboatpilot 07-04-2014 10:59 AM

7 months and counting now. Still the same old excuses and lies. I wonder how many customers are waiting like us? It's obvious that Mike doesn't give a s**t about us and feels that this type of customer abuse isn't going to affect his companys reputation? Well I'll wait, what choice do I have at this point. If it wouldn't cost me a fortune to change out the gauges that I've already switched I would drop his lousy company and his horrible service policies.

extras 07-04-2014 08:38 PM

I deal with Gaffrig all the time. Great customer service. Never had a problem.

CaribouLou 07-05-2014 12:24 AM

I ordered my gauges and they showed up 3 days later?

ItsPeanut 07-05-2014 06:35 AM

Hey extra and caribou. Order the gauges we ordered and you will be on this thread b itching about how gaffrigs customer service sucks and you still do not have your stuff.
